sitting here at beautiful seaforth.  catching a few fish drinking a few beers.   however did loose a 20lb plus barra yesterday but who cares.  i did get to see him jump twice.  anyhow thats off topic.   we will be leaving here and travelling back to brisbane and thought, that as we know every bend in the bruce highway, so why not go inland.   anyone care to recommend an inland route to bring us out north of brisbane at say caboolture?  oh and i think i have the only grey nomads sticker in the apark - havent seen another yet lol.....

Still on the Bruce Hwy to Rocky, then via Biloela .... Camp spot behind the pub at Marlborough (north of Rocky), I think it's $5 to use the showers, dunnies etc at the pub.  The village is off the highway away from the noise.

Another place of interest is Cania Gorge near Monto.  Both B4 and TT parks there.

Another suggestion - head out from Mackay to Walkerston, there's a camp at Homebush, 13 kms east of Eton, from there head to Nebo, check out the mines at Morambah, Peak Downs, Dysart, Middlemount. From there, go across to Capella, down to Emerald, Springsure, across to Moura, into Biloela, down to Monto, through Eidsvold, Nanango (great peanuts to be had at the Peanut Van), Kilcoy, then into Caboolture. Maybe a round about way, but worth a look, and you will surely be supporting the local communities. Bitumen all the way.

Good comparison Jimricho, Petengail has the full picture I still would go inland when ever I can but has your comparison show there is a extra cost in fuel and time good post again Jimricho
