Today from my good friends at the Avenue. Bacchus marsh Jeff Jone's Orchards...I found my first Purple Carrot and Have made a soup of it...I hope you all can see it clearly
I tried those, didn't like them. They also stained the bench. Give me the good old fashioned ones.

Carrots were originally purple back in the Roman times and then they fiddled with them and now we have orange ones. Just a bit of trivia for you.

Does this mean the ugly looking purple ones are the good old-fashioned ones.
I like my beetroot purple and I'm too used to orange carrots...like my tomatoes red
too, although the little yellow ones look good mixed in a tossed salad.
We're told a rainbow of veg is good for our health I couldn't see pumpkin always being
the orange colour on our plates.
Cheers

then there's always the white, orange and purple sweet potato. I like the purple variety, much more flavour. The white one isn't too bad either. The orange one isn't all that tasty to me.
