Just spent over a week free camping in Kangaroo Valley which helped us to recover from 2 weeks of the hustle & bustle of Sydney. The Valley still has the tranquility I remember from my youth camping there with my friends in the Easter breaks. Bendeela Camping Ground is a little slice of paradise & the price is right being free. No showers or electricity but there is the river for washing & the sun for the solar panel so no complaints from here.
Love the wombats there & are mostly quite unfazed by the human visitors, most times ignoring the inquisitive people & there cameras. There were half a dozen wandering around at night & on our second morning I found one even left a calling card on my sandal, so the next morning I decided to mark my territory(I'll leave my method up to your imagination), no more messy sandals, but by the time I moved the van when leaving we found about a dozen parcels under it so maybe my deterrent didn't work.
It got a little busy during the Anzac break but we had the best spot on a little rise by ourselves overlooking the river. We just left in time as 2 bus loads of kids turned up to camp there the day we left.
We're in Nowra till tommorow then onto a place mentioned in the Camps 5 book called Pretty Beach in the Murramarang Nat Park a bit south of Ulludulla for a few days.
Sorry to be missing visiting Ma in Ulludulla this time & not getting up to Mudgee ourselves to meet everyone at the big meet but hope all goes well up there. Cheers. Jon & Hylda.

You sound so relaxed and at ease guys, great stuff.
Stay safe and we will have a drink to you in Mudgee.

Hope you enjoy Pretty Beach you guys. You will certainly see a lot of Kangaroos there that's for sure.
While you are in that area go to the East Lyn servo on the highway. The best pies for miles and miles.

Kangaroos everywhere here & the odd possum. The name suits the beach, a lovely place, all the beaches here are beautiful, it will be a shame to leave.
When we head south from here we may try the pies you mentioned, we try to test any pie places that are recommended by people but are still yet to find one that comes close to my favourite pie shop in Sydney.
Again, sorry to have missed you down here Ma. maybe next time or at the next big get together Cheers Jon & Hylda

If the next get together is even half as good as Mudgee has turned out to be everyone should be talking about it for years to come.
Just takes someone to put a definite on date and place and enough advance notification and it should be a "goer".
Look forward to meeting you all and many others then too.
