Well the weather is great, the sun is shining in Perth, I am feeling good.
I have only one real complaint, my van is in the driveway and not attached to my vehicle, I just can't wait until May when we plan on heading North.
Just going to point the car and follow the bonnet. Did I say I just can't wait.

I'm going North from Rocky. Saturday morning to Farm sit for a week. Not looking forward to driving into cyclonic wind though.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Oo Sheba, take care. You may have to park up somewhere until it's safe to drive the highways.
There'll be a lot of rain in that system, so there will be flooding to watch for as well.
Be careful whatever you do. The emergency services may stop you going further north.
Good trip JRH. At least in WA if you point the bull bar north you can't get lost. There are only 2 options. Inland or coast roads. So which one are you taking?
The country should still be looking fairly good up to Carnarvon - if you're going via the coast road.
Safe travels everyone.

We've caught up with Gary and Kerry. Spent quite a few happy hours with them. They are in Port Lincoln National Park at the moment parked on a clifftop with a magnificent vciew of the bay and sandy beach below.

Not too worried about the Highway so much, as the creeks after I turn off.
Sheba.

Will go the coast road Chris as I want to check out the Indian Ocean Drive from Cervantes to Dongara, it is all bitumised now so should be quite a pleasant drive with quite a few spots to stop and do a bit of fishing.
Mind you if I was to listen to my Tom Tom I could very well get a bit off track. We were travelling from Northam to Merredin and on a perfectly straight road without any turn offs Tom Tom told me to turn right, which would have put me in a paddock full of sheep, don't know why but the words Kiwi and gum boots popped into my head. :):)
Yep it should be a good trip, unfortunately we need to be back in Rockingham before xmas as Irona has to have a colonoscopy. Just a precaution as she had bowel cancer in 2004, so far all has been clear so we are not worried but will keep a check on it anyway.

Mine too. The dirty little bloke in there tries to misleading me into the bush - often.
Talk about a misguided tour.
That's a nice trip along that road. Well, in 07 it was.
Are you telling me Gary and Kerry haven't been blown off the cliffs down there in the Lincoln Nat Pk.
It can really blow down there. SE when it's not northerly or westerlies.
It's still warm I see on the weather map. It should be nice.

Now you've gone and made me homesick. I wasn't born there but I have spent a lot of years there, and I call it "home".
I have 1 daughter there and a lot of friends.
I'm heading back that way when I get out of Qld. It will be winter, but I do have a heater in the van.
When the weather clears you have to go up to Winters Hill, to Coffin Bay, Fisheries Bay, and through the back country between North Shields and Wanilla.
Beautiful country back there in the hills. Even Tumby Bay to Cummins is a great drive.
It will be dry, but it's still pretty out the back there.
Have a nice time everyone.

The bottom end of the van park lost a couple vans and a bus I think, and the scout hall which was the old school got wiped out.
The old shop which was operating as a shell house was destroyed and the bloke who ran it lost his wife and another family member.
The locals went down to the beach and sat in the water to get away from the fire.
The pub was ok and untouched though.
I wasn't there at the time but my daughter lost a good friend when she got caught trying to escape with her 2 boys.
They've had 2 bad fires since then.
Have a great stay, and safe travels.
