Does anyone know of any free camping spots around the South West Rocks (NSW) area ? There used to be plenty of empty land next to the Macleay River entrance, but we haven't been there for 20 years ! Thanks,

Hi there. Another Camps Australia 5 candidate.
Sorry to butt in, because I don't know that area of Oz. Where are these gorgious sounding rocks? Is there a national park in that region?
Tell me more, please.

We stayed at Smokey Cape campgrounds around 10 years ago in our Goldstream Link and found it fantastic, but it seems Caravans are a no no according to the above link.

Just don't stay at tha Nat Park caravan site below the old Trial Bay Gaol as its about $40 i night though you couldn't get a more scenic spot & it is very popular. Chris! You will have to visit the area one day it's on my list as one of the prettiest parts of the NSW coast & the old Trial Bay Gaol I mentioned above is worth a couple of hours of your time, it has a great history, its like an old castle & is perched on a cliff edge overlooking the sea. Keep an eye out on our travel blog in about a week as I took a few pics of it which will be on display there. Cheers Jon

Thanks you two. Standing by for pics.
I did southern NSW coast up to Batemans Bay before I headed west over the hills. It was all very new country to me, and I think I'll have to have another look some time. It is very pretty country. Thanks again.
