Yep , you got it we are back in civilization again. Took a drive to the Roper on saturday & it was still at 3mtr,hung around for a couple of days & very sloww at falling. The gate on the savanah way which was locked on saturday I found was unlocked on tuesday so drove down to the Hodgson rv which we need to cross, no hope for a week or so. As ths camp ground at roper bar is still closed for the wet season we decided to come back into Matatanka for a few more days , good little park here with all facilities including pools . On the way back in we checked out the homestead & thermo pool, yep the bats are as thick as theives, the palms are thriving , the camp ground is bare & no one staying there so we came back to where we were before. All is good as we have plenty of time ,we did expect this could happen as I ststed before this part of the teritory has had no rain untill two days before we arrived here& has had about six inches, but no rain since we arrived. I,ll try to add a couple of pics of the crossing we are waiting on. Will update again later, in the meantime I,ll be watching this space. Cheers,

Sometimes you've got to wonder what you may have done to upset the big fella upstairs when you're not so lucky weatherwise. At the start of the wet season the ABC were saying the S.O.I. indicated a less than average wet season, got that wrong. And the bats, just adds to the ambience

Reports are that the very top end had reasonable rain but way way below average down here.
