Greatings from Mataranka NT, just waiting a few days to see what the weather does. From all reports it has been a very dry wet season till now. The Roper regein has had no rain untill a couple of days back. One river rise of 1.8 mtr, their floods are 12/14 mtrs. appart from that all is ok.

Gee, I'm surprised.
There were reports early in the wet season of lots of rain, but that came from a southerner.
There's currently a monsoonal low of 1000hp hovering over the NT, so it may bring some stuff with it. eg storms and rain.
It's not too late. The "wet" officially ends at the end of April.
But it's unusual for Darwin and the Territory.
It's been raining consistently here In Cairns, but they've had much more further south. The Bruce Highway was closed for a couple of days just recently.
I'm sure there's more to come.
Weather watching has been a hobby of mine since I was about 8 years old. It's much more fun with the computer.
Hang in there, and enjoy the springs, or are the bats driving you batty?

We are in the town itself , the road to the homestead & springs had water on it on friday when we arrived, this is the little roper,
We have only had a couple of very light showers since we arrived, but some good rain the two days before. We are staying at a c/park/motel combo for a few days, green grass, big camp kitchen etc , no probs.
I rang a bloke out on the roper rv that we meet two yrs ago, they had 150ml 3-4 days ago, road is closed at the moment, just need a few days for the Hodgson rv to drop & we should be able to get in.
The rain that Alice is getting seems to be going around us, thats good but the roper needs rain, as said earlier A very dry wet so far. The roper has only had 1.8mt a little while back & 1.3 the day i rang.
Last year it reached 14mtrs, big difference. Will keep you posted.
