You may have seen the news tonight on the back packers camping at the top posh areas in sydney in camper vans & staying for lengthy periods.
Providing the vans are legalily parked ,the council has said they do not have the power to isue fines or move them on ,even with the no camping signs in place . All they can do is ask them to move , but they stay put.
I wonder if this is the same in all towns or have the councils been pulling the wool over our eyes all this time & handing out fines for the hell of it ?
I thought if there is a no camping sign in place then it was illegal to camp.

Mollymook beach has the no camping signs, you know the ones, a tent with a line through it, but there are always at least two camper vans or caravans there every night and at this time of the year there can be anything up to a dozen

I think you would find the key word camper van is just like parking a car , not a caravan

That's how I would interpret it too De. Could prove quite and argument point with the Ranger if he was the pendantic type though.

we encourage camping in caravans and motorhomes and campers on one of our streets, we have a loo and water for the traveller, it is well recieved and quite popular, I cant see a problem
