Theres lotsa dating web-sites around. For anybody who's looking, Derek and I would recommend RSVPA. We've had nearly 5 happy years together so far, and would be very unlikely to have met otherwise.

I've met some great friends through Nomads, male and female, but not partner-type relationships. Good friends though.
While it's not a "mating site", it is a great place to "meet". It's not really intended to be anything more than a sharing sociable site for travellers.
There have been a couple of "couple" meetings through Nomads.
I've also met some blokes through "mating sites", but in most cases there's a really good reason why they're single, and I think I've met the worst of them, which is why I'm still single.
They probably think the same about me. I'm fussy, and the longer I'm on my own the fussier I get.
I'm not looking for a handyman, mechanic or caretaker, just a compatible mate who likes me, and doesn't want to reshape and change me.

Brickies Mate.I am not putting my hand anywhere but round a stubbie holder.I am just curious to know if any G/N's have found a lifelong mate on the Forum.I hope that I am not being to personal but it is just a general question that I thought would make a good topic of conversation.Cheers.Ibbo.

I know of one couple who met on the forum and keep company as and when they are able.
I met my Guru on Match.com. Couldn't be happier and we are very very compatible. The only thing we disagree on is lamb's fry and spinach. I love them he hates them. If that's the only thing we can't agree on then we are way in front.
Known each other nearly three years now and married for two on the 29th February, so if you do the maths, we have to wait another two years for our first wedding anniversary. Guru can only get into trouble once every four years for forgetting our anniversary........

I met my lovely fiancee Hylda through the RSVP online dating site two & a half years ago so we can't recommend it highly enough... & it's easier then buying one on eBay which is where I procure most of my other passions.

Yup my husband and i met on line although i must say it wasnt a dating service, we were both members of schoolfriends.com its now genes reunited we spoke to each other in a chat room for over a year as mates ,i had never been in a chat room inmy life and only went in cos my daughter said there might be people inthere from school talking?. so in i went called myself brooksy as my maiden name was brooks at time, his nick was dibs?.Anyways dibs ended up coming up to work on the croc zoo for three months here inbeerwah,he came to tea one night a week at my home stayed in the spare room next to mine for three months one nite a week, by the time he left i was in love with this man, after he had left he rang me and asked me out to dinner, (needless to say he had told me he had feeling for me whilst on the site a year beforehand). But i put him in his place because i had just come out of a horrible relationship and wanted to be on my own .
But all came good and have now been married to dibs for five years things couldnt be better we have both worked hard he lived on gold coast ,(to which i cant stand ) and i lived in my brothers house in witta qld , so he had to move here i certainly wasnt moving to the goldy it all turned out fantastic as we started a vacuum excavation business SUCKED IN vacuum excavations and now have two suck trucks as we call them plus have purchased a poo truck as well, ive been with an alcoholic from the age of 17 till i was 25 had daughter to him ,then i thought i picked a wonderful man who wasnt a drinker at all but boy oh boy did i pay 17 years of wondering why some one picked me to only tell me what i could do where i could go and who i could associate with or else there was hell to pay ,took me a long time to get out of that one .
Since then i have now learnt that nobody will ever own my body or soul but myself ,and i have learnt to say no to people in general .Its a tough life out there when things dont go as they are supposed to when you choose someone to love and things dont go right most of the time stupidly we try to get it right and stay ,but that never happens ive learnt that and have lost all my young days to men who realy werent men at all?.
No offence to any of the lovely male peoples on this site, but yes you can meet online and ive heard of some wonderful experiences ,some sad ones too.
There are some crazies out there on the net too, so take it slow and easy ?.

Whilst we did not strictly meet on the net we were introduced by a mutual friend in the old yahoo gardening forum,we both have/had a passion for old english roses, especially the austin roses. that was back in 98 we moved in together in 99, married in 03. I consider my self a very lucky man.
