Aaaaahh, Sunday morning at the Ambo branch. 0700 and the night shift has gone home all bleary eyed and not smiling. We are having a good start to the day as you can see by all the replies I have managed to add this morning. My partner has "assumed" the position and is putting out gentle zzzz's it will be hilarious when the cell call goes off. There is still a mark of the ceiling from last week not to mention the stain on the armchair!!!! Being a lot younger than I he goes out carousing until all hours then hopes to catch up on a little shuteye whilst being paid. Might just work today! Breakfast was good, cereal. Home made leftover pizza for lunch. I used my Pizza stone for the first time last night. They do a good job but I didn't heat the stone up enough before adding the pizza to it. Worth the effort though. Only two shifts to go and I am on leave. No, not boasting, just want you that are still working to feel a little envious.
How are you doing Granny Chris? Shame I can't get a patient transfer to your hospital we could have enjoyed a cuppa and a biscuit! One hour down and nine to go. Today is our short shift, ten hours, the others being twelve hours, yesterday and tomorrow and fourteen hours on nightshift on Tuesday. Then off for the Festive season. Sorry but I will still be here to bore you to tears with this sort of rambling and the inane replies to many and varied postings. In about four and a half weeks we will be hitching up the Galaxy and heading off to Toora in South Gippsland for Australia Day weekend. We did the same last year and it was so nice we decided to return. Handy for Wilson's Prom and lots of scenic places like Agnes Falls. She wasn't there last year but we are hoping to see her fall this time. After that we will be well established into 2010 and looking forward to Christmas again. My how time flies. Well, have a great day. Tim has just turned over and fallen off the settee. I better go and assist him, he seems a little fragile this morning. If the people out there have any sense they won't call us as he is the "Doctor" for today. Ramble over. Terro out.

On ya Terro. I started this morning at 0600 at Cairns Airport. Was up to 2300 last night with a local charity convoy of emergency vehicles, corporate vehicles and some private. 200k around Cairns and the northern beaches at an average of 20k per hour makes for a long night. Raised some cash though.
I could do with some sleep right about now.
One of my staff bunged on a ham and eggs breakfast this morning for Christmas. Now I am full as a goog and have to go off and fight crime. Not like you lot who can sit around being reactive. I guess though that if your station is like any other this time of year you wont be sitting around for long.

Dave you are doing a very important job. Keep getting that crop in mate. We need it. now I have my pizza stone I will up the use of flour to the extent that you may need to work overovertime next year. Would have been easier to double time! At least you only have yourself to argue with. Ian (clazandaza) probably meets clients that really don't want to see him at all in his professional context. We, on the other hand get called to visit people many of which, I would say are really nice but there are the exceptions. None today so far. As for your taxes at work keep them coming, we need all we can get LOL.

well I dont know about "important" job, I gotta get this crop off for two reasons,
(1) everytime it rains the value is downgraded, (currently the rain has cost roughly $120 per tonne) so far Jocks income has dropped by some $140,000
(2) every hour I put in up here brings me $30 closer to the canadian Rockies
I'm currently ripping into a special variety, the name of which I have forgotten but it is destined for bread rolls for subway, no body else can buy it.
all of subways roll flour was previously sourced from canada but a Jamestown bloke has started growing this you beaut grain and broken into the market,
we are placing around 300 tonne into the mix to see if we can break the monopoly, there are currently 5 graingrowers in the region who are in the grain pool each contributing a fair whack into the mix
but you blokes that man the ambo's and firetrucks and paddy wagons have my respect, my office is animals and landscapes, I dont think much of the city scape and some of the folk that dwell within
I used to jockey the appliances but in some ways I'm glad they pensioned me off, even though the nostrils still flair at the smell of burning scrub!

Isn't it great to see people getting their results after battling agianst the odds for some time.
