Interesting stats that older drivers are involved in less accidents than younger drivers but older drivers cause more accidents especially in rural areas. Such things as being totally ignorant of other road users, changing lanes and making turns without indicating and obstructing traffic apparently cause younger drivers who have percieved deadlines to meet to have accidents taking risks to get around "The Old Fart" in front....

I would expect nothing less than exemplary driving from the members of this forum. If you are going away try to go before the rush and avoid the "idiots" and the ones who have to "get past the caravan at all costs". Still I'm telling you nothing you don't already know. Safe travelling those of you lucky enough to get away. Everyone else, take care in the local streets as well.
Terro.

Basil thanks for the timely reminder.I leave on Boxing Day to go to Moama from Sydney, cant't say that I am happy about the trip down there.Sometimes I feel as though I am a fighter pilot, check behind, check in front, check left, check right, just as well I don't have to watch the sky above me.Seriously G/N's take care, rest, don't compete, you are not in a race.Remember better to arrive twenty minutes late than twenty years to soon.Cheers.Ibbo.

That's probably true Basil, but just remember the scenery across our harbour and foreshores is unequalled. What better way to spend 45 minutes and if you can relax and revive at the same time, gotta be good

Travel safe and arrive home safe.
I won't be driving over the silly season, but I hope to be flying toward Adelaide over the time.
Just welcome in the new year all safe and well.

Granny, you will not be going anywhere until Dr Disco and myself have given the ok.We are having to forego the Reunion of Old Pusser Piss Pots,Qld division. so that we can assist with your very delicate and intense procedure. You will be glad to know that one of thebest knife men ever to grasp a scalpel,no other than"Mr Shaken Steven"has agreed to assist.Cheers.Ibbo.

Oh! I'm impressed and oh, so reassured. Such a sacrifice for little ol' me? I really can't wait now. I won't leave until I've been dismissed. That would remove any risk factor connected with surgical procedures.
So do you drink AND sterilise with alcohol? Party in the theatre! Pity my surgery will slow the pary down, or is that the entertainment?
Isn't this fun?
Much better than boring phone calls from the hospital trying to sort out my case history.

Excuse me Granny !!! Do we drink in the operating theatre??.................???...............???? You are soooo rude!!
I'll have you know..............We.....as in Professor Ibbo and myself are PROFESSIONALS!!!
We do NOT drink during the operation..............immediately before...yes......(only to steady the hands from the party the night before ) and afterwards. However I will say.......we DO make up for it afterwards.
That's why you are so lucky to get us because we have a week off between ops to recover.......err.......umm......I mean a week off for further study!! We like to keep up. (who with, I'm not sure)
Rest assured, Good Lady, you are in good hands !!
Oh Ibbo.................Did you find another dog........I fear there may be some bits left over!!
