Hello Sandy and a great big welcome to the best forum. You're after a mail forwarding service. There are a couple that I know of. Haven't used them myself but others may know what they are like their reliability etc. If you have either of the two caravan magazines there are adverts in those for this very service. The only one I can find at the moment is called Landbase and appears to be located in NSW. Any way have a look and see what you think. I have no connection with the above mentioned service and only offered their name to give you an idea. Hope this is of assistance.
Terro.

Hi Sandy.
There are a couple of commercial organisations that do this (for a price!). Someone will know their names.
We find it better to re-direct all our mail to a friend who opens it all, pays our bills (most are paid automatically) and chucks the rubbish out. That friend (or relative) could be anywhere in Australia. A mail re-direction costs about $65 per year.
That way we only need to get a very few items forwarded, and they email us about those and we let them know where to send them.
Better to leave all that rubbish home if you can. You don't need it......
Cheers,
Peter

Hi Sandy ,
The last two years we have had a very good house sitter ,we have trusted her to open & check mail ,
Anything of importance she bulk posts to us at a specified address that we supply.
Its worked very well . Regular bills are paid by direct debit .
May not help you but it works for us .
Safe travells

Hi Just cruisin, Thanks for your reply regarding mail forwarding but we sold our house in 2005 in Tasmania and our dear neighbour has always sent our mail to us when we travel but next year she is going away for awhile so she can't do it but as you say it is the most reliable way to get your mail and i will miss her sending it. But we will just have to try something else. Thank you sandy and Brian

Welcome Sandy and Brian.
There are quite a few references throughout the forum explaining the options available to you for mail handling.
I'm in Cairns but my daughter's address in SA is my postal address and she forwards my mail.
Good luck and happy and safe travels. You're gonna luv it!

You're very welcome Sandy.
Cairns has a population of more than 200,000, not counting the tourists.
During the dry season, or the southern winter the wole state fills up with southerners escaping the winter cold.
The rainforest and surrounding region is just stunning. The rivers and creeks are spectacular, especially in the wet season.
The build up has just begun in the last 3 days, with the humidity creeping up, and the showers have just started sneaking in. There haven't been any thunderstorms yet.
It's a bit later than last year when it rained almost every day from July, and the humidity was around almost all the time.
After spending 11 years in the Kimberleys the humidity and heat don't faze me.
It's actually the more spectacular time of the year, but there are risks of flash flooding all the way north from Brisbane, and in particular from Rockhampton.
The city itself has lots to do, lots of services, trips and tours to almost everywhere, or you can drive around to check out everything from the beautiful rainforest to the savannah inland.
I've been up to Cooktown and Cape Tribulation. Great drives, not too far.
Just watch the crocs in all waterways and beaches, and the stinging jellyfish on the beaches.
You can be as busy or laid back as you like. I'm not a real shopper but there are lots of places to shop and eat all over town.
