3 way fridge (RM2553 T) set up for 12 volts from the tug when moving. One of those Fridge Switch "thingies" to close down the 12 volts from the the tug to the fridge when stationary.
240 volts to the fridge when (Rarely) hooked up to shore power.
Now have I got this right. I have obtained an 80 Watt Portable Solar Panel just to keep a trickle charge up to the house battery for the 12 volt system. So long as the Smart Charger is not hooked up to shore power, I can connect the solar panel power leads direct to the battery without disconecting any wires. Correct???
Ah, 6th December (Practice run) is getting closer as the days get longer. Couple of days getting to Carnarvon...the wedding then a couple of days to Exmouth then back to Perth. Sort out any problems then January and the big one. Anyone heading Carnarvon - Exmouth way in December?

Hi Wombat thats right dont disconect anything just hook the panel up & disconect when finished. Probably safer to fold up panel before disconecting if clips are on the batery terminals dont want sparks after charging.

Right on Wombat ...but... gas when camping if not on shore power, 80 watt solar nowhere near enough to run 3 way fridge.

Forgot to say "trickle charge the 12 volt system with, the fridge on gas." Thanks for pointing it out.

gas when stationary, 12 volt when travelling and 240 when available, solar to keep everything topped up
