Guru has sunk into the depths of despair. He's actually chucked a "wobbly" and he has grave concerns for two of our children.....they are Holden supporters.
You wouldn't have to guess very hard what team Guru supports......

I drive a Ford but not by choice, 2/3 years ago the company changed from Holden to Ford for company cars,. At the time Ford was the only company that offered LPG only cars, so from an economic and enviromental perspective it was the right choice but not popular. The strange thing is myself and the "me's" interstate are the only ones exempt from having LPG cars although the word is out that at next changeover ,that won't be the case. I work for BOC so with team BOC getting second, management may see sense and revert back to Holden.

I've always had a love for motorcars, which is probably why I've never bought a Falcon nor a Commodore.
Not that the "Ford" or "Holden" contribution to these race cars in any more than skin deep.
I reckon it's fraudulent misrepresentation.

It's a sport guys. It's just a sport. While Holden and Ford are the cars on the tracks, there's a really good reason for that.
No one makes cars which are appropriate for this style of racing.
There are some wonderful pieces of engineering on the roads, and I am a petrol head with a little lean towards Holden.
I've owned an FC and a "Rana and driven many more.
It was a great race and all the drivers, cars and engineering were really tested in those conditions.
It's a bloody big hill with a great view from the top.
The drivers go where the money is. It's their living. I doubt very much if it has anything to do with loyalty to either brand.
I think Craig Lowndes is a cutey and he just happens to be a good race driver.
Garth Tander was just the luckiest bloke driving for the luckiest team on the day. Bathurst is all about luck at the end of the day.
So there!

No offence meant here but did you know why the Higher Authority made Holdens? I'll tellyou, to keep the idiots out of Fords!!!! Now be kind it's only a joke. All my sons have Holdens. I won't allow them to park in my driveway in case they leave "germs" to infect the Ford. Although we do have the Patrol there is still a Ford in the drive, it is only the shopping trolley but the Ford tradition continues in our house. Anyway Holden drivers cheat!!!!!! Thats my last word on the subject. Ford will be back bigger and better next year. Now thats my last word on the subject. Wonder if we will ever see Mitsubishi's racing around Bathurst? That is definitely my last word on the subject. OK one more, remember the Mini's? The cars not the skirts although they were alright as well. Would they do as well now? Thats it I'm out of here before I think of more rubbish to write.
Terry.

lot's of last word's in there, quite to be expected from a ford driver, the typical ford owner isnt developed enough to be able to properly pronounce the more sofisticated "Holden" so they go with the simpler, more "rustic" name and is more often than not very confused and disorientated hence the inability to choose the "very last word", shame really, some of them are quite nice people outside the vehicle choice
I'm not sure I agree granny, the holdens that run around here (with very little modification) could easily take on bathurst, it surprises me that these monsters are allowed on the streets, factory released they are speed limited to 155 mph but a little fiddling with the chip and who knows what it is capable of
certainly a burnout to 4th gear is easily within it's reach, suspension is very similar and the gearbox/diff setup is extremly similar
I begrudgingly state very similar as to the ford GT however we all know the holdens pedigree is far more advanced and noteworthy
funny thing this loyalty business, I was brought up as a holden man having owned a hr and an eh, I also owned a vc valliant and a chrysler centura, and a toyota super saloon, the wife owns a ford (blechhhh!!) KA (european model) and the family vehicle is a mitsi Magna, our vehicle of travelling choice is a toyota Hi-ace and yet the vehicle that will be forever in my heart is an old chevy blitzwagon that I bought from a dump and rebuilt as a motorhome
what a multi cultural garage we run, ford or holden, throw enough money into morris and that would win
all I wish is for lowndes to eat compost and shrivel!!

I know the Mitshubishi test driver here in Adelaide, he recokoned they had a car that would give both Hoden and Ford a run for their money but would never be allowed to run in the Supercar catergory.
