Anybody listen to Senator Bill Mclennan on" Maccas" Sunday morning what a frightening picture he presented on our resources concerning the use of water, Again another reason why I am thankful I am in my 70's We should think about this every waking moment and conserve it, and scream long and loud at the pollies to to do the same Pity they only get elected in the short term, they should be able to see the results of the discisions they make while in office and be caned for the wrong one??

Would'nt it be lovely if they {the pollies} were held accountable for some of their decisions!!!!

Pollies are only elected for a short term, so only make decisions that suit their immediate circumstances. They can then retire on huge pensions and benifits that will see them and their families not having to worry about the mess they have left behind. Our kids and g/kids can fix that.

I'm glad the pioneers of this country didn't take such a short term look at everything.
The Snowy Mountains Scheme, the River Murray, all the state's reservoirs and pipelines, water tanks on every building, road configuration and railways (not the ones they pulled up), mining and smelting, motor vehicle assembly, primary production and processing.
Every policy the governments make should be based on the long-term view in the best interest of the state and country the policy affects.
Unfortunately this does not appear to be the case these days. They're now a bunch of over-paid, self-serving, short-sighted w a n kers.

Never seen or meet a pollie yet that isn't in it for personal gain either directly or through a family trust.
Yesterdays unemployable school teacher suddenly becomes a know it all pollie and minister for education or child welfare. Just wonderful how a salary package including allowances of 200.000 plus can make one an expert in anything . Take Penny Wrong as a classic example

Wasn't the NSW Premier a garbage collector? Nothing wrong with that job, even have some in our family. Just can't equate it with being premier. But then the whole box and dice is a load of garbage so maybe it DOES fit.

Who decides the qualification of politicians and their salary?
Do they meet the "essential selection criteria"?
Do they get through the interview process?
They all as credible as bat p o o. It stinks a lot, rips the paint off, but isn't good for anything.

It's US, dear Chris, who vote in these opportunistic egocentrics.
In the main they get away with what they do because too few people take an active part in the administration of their own society.
As someone once said, it's a cardiac disease, of the aorta: " 'ey orta be doin' somethin' about.......(insert current favourite grumble) ..."
Again, as someone once said: "A country gets the government (that) it deserves."
Can't recall the origins of the above; I'm all brain fogged with the rotten lurgy; acquired from sharing a shopping mall with a mob of sneezing, coughing and spitting zombies masquerading as homo sapiens.
