I have a cat that I do not want to pert with. She doesn't go far away from me anyway. She can not kill a spider let alone a bird.

great vocal pets and a good friend but there are a lot of places you would not be allowed near! your choice but it does restrict your travels

Hi Toni, and welcome to the nomads. While it's great to have your favourite furry mate for company on your travels, it will restrict some of your activities, such as national parks and many caravan parks.A park neighbour here has a cat which doesn't stray very far from the van, and lives mostly inside with a sand box etc.We all know cats like to roam usually, so you need to bear this in mind. You could carry a light plastic fence system to make a controlled run for your precious.I've seen people in some parks using this system for their small dogs. I don't know about big dogs which jump further, or cats which also have the ability to leap tall things in a single bound. Good luck with that and enjoy safe travels.

Have travelled with two Balinese cats (long-haired Siamese) for five years. One is diabetic and needs two isulin jabs daily ... the other had his gall bladder removed two years ago.
They willingly take walks on leads and also have a netted enclosure which folds down and packs into a small bag when not in use.
Problems? Very few, except from many caravan parks who flatly refuse to let us stay ... even though the felines spend 95 percent of their time in our caravan and are absolutely no trouble or threat to the local wildlife.
Hi Wizzy, and welcome to nomads.
It sounds like you've almost qualified to be a vet. Safe and happy travels.

I dont travel with a cat but we have started taking a small dog. I bought a metal foldup enclosure for $25 at one of those discount stores. Works a treat.
