I hope I'm not breaking any rules in being here as I am only 20yrs old.  But I am doing a university assignment and thought it best to come straight to the source with my questions.
I would like to know how many of you take on casual work while you embark on your adventures and what sort of work it is?
Or
What sort of work would you like to take on while you travel? (fruit picking etc.)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Ryan, we are in our early '60's; in 2008 hubby obtained a job at a winery in NSW during the grape harvest for three months. Then we went to Perth and he worked for a landscape/gardening business for 5 months. We are now in Qld and he has a casual on call position as a traffic controller.  He has a forklift licence, first aid, OH&S ticket etc. to broaden oppurtunities as they arise.  Hope this small amount of info is useful.

Hi Ryan, We have only been on the road 6mths, I am a nurse and pick up work through Nurse the Nation which offers contract work in the Catholic hospital around Australia and NZ. The lenght of the contract is pretty much up to you I take 6-8 wks and never work more than 3 shifts per week. Then have a few weeks off to move on and explore. My husband is a pensioner and I am still a little to young to qualify. Albostan
