Just an intro and a bit about myself.Not quite Grey yet but no doubt will be soon, i just turned 50 don't know if that qualifies me?But due to a marriage breakdown and no kids at home anymore,i have decided to do what i want to do with no responsibility for anyone.For years i have lived my life putting others peoples needs before mine which you do for your family.

We are in the last few months of selling our assets putting finishing touches on the house etc waiting for winter to go.And then im going for a long long drive.Its something i have always dreamed of doing and going solo doesn't faze me at all.

My intention is to try and work when i need to by doing seasonal work following the sun around OZ,and see as much of this fantastic country as i can.

I have only just found this great forum and have already gained a wealth of knowledge about things i never would have thought of.I'm still deciding on what sort of rig to use ie: what sort of caravan and 4X4 to buy and working what not to buy.

Any way enough before i bore you all to tears.I look forward to meeting up with like minded people somewhere out there

Welcome Stefan, Plenty of advice available on this forum, especially work etc from some of the solo's on the site.

Hi and welcome Stefan. There is a job link on this site front page, and there are a couple of other job sites for travellers. I haven't looked them up for a while, but just Google. Make a list of your skills, and check out the jobs. It may be orchard work like fruit picking, pruning and maintenance. It could be farm or station work to help out during the harvest, shearing, mustering etc. It could be guiding tourists around the paddocks and special spots on some of the properties which have home stay tourism during the dry season up north of the country. If you're a little bit mechanical a farm or station could use your skills. There's more to this seasonal working "holiday" than picking strawberries, rockmelons, water melons, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, bananas, pineapples, mangoes. Now, if you're a cook, you've got it made. You could do a stint at outback roadhouses, or work in the hospitality industry behind the bar, waiting tables. Oh, you get the idea. Your options are almost endless out there in the big wide world of Australia. Cheers Chris
