i was just listening to a few slim dusty cd's.most of his songs are about towns and areas of australia.every time he mentioned a town i thought of what it was like when we were there and which way we were headed.there were a lot of areas sung about which we have not yet visited and it made us think how big this country is and how lucky we are just to be able to pack up and go where-ever we want whenever we want.hope we are able to see the rest of the places he sings about. although we are just on sixty;wish we had started traveling a lot earlier than we did. happy traveling roy and lorraine

lookin forward lookin back, yep we travelled non stop for a lot of years in our early days, still travel a lot now, we havent seen half of what we want to see and a quarter of what we need to see and an eighth of what we have been told to see
i'm as happy as buggery to be able to see just a little bit of our great country, I'd be really annoyed if I could say I've seen it all

If I was ever lucky enough to say I have seen all of this great country I could then start all over again 'cause with my memory it would in all likelihood be a new experience for me.

Welcome Roycan. I get a similar feeling when I hear or sing Graeme Connors - a Mackay boy or the Pigrims - a Broome family.
It's a good feeling to be able to relate to what might be a dream to someone else.
Aren't we lucky? Cheers Chris

Welcome to the GN's Forum Roy and Lorraine, It's never too late to enjoy the wonders of this diverse, vast and wonderful continent, especially if you are going to do it, to music of the maestro of OZ C&W too.
As re-cycled teenagers ourselves, my Queen Jenny, our little poodle Sarena and me, are loving every kilometer of it.

Welcome to the site Roy & Lorraine, Slim's album "Country Roads" kept me company on our last trip around Oz, along with Jim Reeves and a few others, mostly country and of course the Big "O".
