When you are on a web page that you feel may be of interest to others, go to the top of your browser, left click on the address that's in the address bar, to highlight it, then right click on the highlighted area, and select 'Copy'. Open up 'Notepad' or a new 'Word' document, right click anywhere in the blank area of the page and select 'Paste'. Now click on 'File' up in the top left of the Tool bar and select 'Save As' Give it a name that you will remember and when you do need to add it to a post, simply go to 'My Documents' and open the file, left click and drag your cursor on the link to highlight it, right click on the highlighted link, select copy and then open up your GN's 'Reply' page and right click in the area where we write our stuff and then click 'Paste'
PS: Most important of all Gary or Kerry, do make sure that you don't add anything to the beginning or the end of the link, particularly a full stop or additional letters or words. Otherwise they will negate the functioning of the link process.

I can get to the last step, but how do you open up the GN reply page? When I right click where I thought I should be, "Paste" is greyed out. Don't know if I'm doing this part right. Cheers, xina.
I figured it out. Initially I had put a full stop in, and that negated it, but I was doing something else wrong too. Finally worked it out, hence the Ambulance Cover post.
Just don't ask me how I did it now. I did print your instructions out, but still had problems for a while.
Cheers, xina.

Hi Xina,
"I can get to the last step, but how do you open up the GN reply page?"
You need to be Logged-on in the GN's Forum, to actually see the 'Reply' or 'Quote' buttons which, will in turn open the page that allows you to write your submission, when you click on either of them.
Nice to see that you have managed to successfully submit your post, Ambulance Cover, and that your functional link works as you intended.
Well done. And, the more practice you have of doing this Copy/Paste work, no doubt you will discover other ways of performing this type of activity.

Gary & Kerry,
I see on your first post you have a full stop right on the end of your link, this would have prevented it from working as stated by Palebushman.
Another method of doing this is;
Go to the top link shown on the site page you want to transfer to GN.
Left click on the address to highlight it blue,
then right click on the highlighted address and left click on "Copy" in the drop down menu (as PB has said).
The go to the GN site, open a new blank post, put your pointer in the blank writing area and left click, (a vertical cursor line will show), then right click and choose "paste" from the drop down menu. The link will then add to the post area. Add any writing to the post above or below the link that you want shown and click "submit".
If the link does not show on the post highlighted (which means it cannot be opened) then use the edit button on your post (top right hand corner showing "More", click there) to edit the post, then when it opens take a little while to download again) put your cursor right behind the link and left click and use the space bar to move it along one space, the link will then highlight. Submit again and job done.
Hope this helps also.

if you have a garmin it is highly usefull to go to the garmin website and download the "poiloader" it takes five minutes to do and makes it a hell of a lot simpler to load poi files on to your gps
when I bought the camps 5 poi file for mine it took me a good frustrating half hour and a phone call to tech support to work out how to get the stuff on to my nuvi
the poi downloader simply grabs the program you want to load and does it all for you, takes two minutes and is all automatic

This is a good site to find free camps, not as comprehensive as camps 5 but can be used to compliment it.
Sorry about the link but can't make it into a hyperlink.
