Hi all, was wondering whether to take our reasonable DVD collection on our travels when we hit the road permanently? Even though we may have seen some of them many times, thought we could maybe put up a sign in van site when we setup to swap with those who may have ones they were ready to part with themselves? We have been offloading collectables and the like and will all this year as we intend to retire 2010. Hence carrying anything unnecessarily is not on says hubby. Is there a library where one can swap maybe as we travel setup- maybe at the caravan parks? Any info would be helpful. Cheers Dawn

"Hence carrying anything unnecessarily is not on says hubby."
HMMmmm! sometimes the dragon reckons I'm surplus to requirements, hubby better be carefull of that to which he speaks, he may just find himself in the "not needed" pile
you wont have time to watch dvd's, too many freinds, too many campfires, too many walks, too many beer o'clock's, we took a telly with us on our first around oz adventure a million years ago, started out in perth, give it away a few miles up the track
I've been meaning to ask you about your avatar Dawn, is that in the grampians at the Boroka lookout with the "jaws of death" in the rear

great spot, we have a photo of me sitting in the "jaws" nearly broke my neck getting to it, a week after I did it a german backpacker tried it and fell off and broke a few bits and peices, took rescuers 4 hours to get down to him, we came up via the c/park walkway, wouldnt recommend it, far better from the carpark on the other side
we did that and the great ocean road over a two week period back in 07 (I think) must do it again, we loved the waterfalls and the picnic grounds at zumsteins, kanga's are a bit freindly though

Yep. often ask people if they want to swap dvd's. i think it's a throwback from when i was a kid and used to go around the streets swapping comics on a saturday night. before t.v obviously.
Did the g.o.r. and home through the grampions last year. great! will do it again one day.

we do that just to keep you young buggers on your toes, HEH!!! HEH!!! HEH!!!
our new home theatre has a series two ipod connection for it so I assume that a heap of movies will go onto the series two and can be played through this setup, it is about the size of a packet of smokes
one of these little things would replace probably hundreds of dvd's
it's the way that I will go If ever we get the chance

I really have to read the headings more closely..... I read this as "wife swapping on our travels" Oh dear me.....Now take my wife - PLEASE!!!! We set off with a box of DVD's and never watched any of them, too many other things to do and of course as soon as the evening repast has been completed, the dishes washed, and the Camp Commandant has made his last rounds I'm asleep anyway..... Especially on the GOR where I had horrendous dreams of climbing wooden stairs being chased by young fit Asian bimbos in bikinis who did not realise just how cold the water was.....
