It's not as gruesome as it sounds, but it is a shock to the administrators. Hackers have in fact hacked into ozcaravantagalong.com and blocked it with a nasty looking red screen with black writing announcing who they were and where they are from. The most disappointing part was they hacked through the site host. But all is not lost. It can be repaired and restored, and Tagalong will be back bigger and better than ever. I thought I'd mention it on this forum to let you all know how vulnerable we all are while we marvel at this technology. The interesting thing is the hackers gain nother from busting into the site. There is minimal personal information, there is no banking or credit card details because everything is free. Watch your back. Cheers Chris

Hackers can be good for system security checks. If it wasn't for hackers we would have a fairly susceptible defence communications network with every Tom Dick and Harry been able to crack the system . Hackers can only get in when you leave the gate open as any host will tell you.

So true Wombat..... These people hack for the sense of adventure they get from it, much like the morons who artisitcally paint walls..... Times have changed, new challenges emerge by the day and humans love a challenge. I mean why bother climbing a mountain or going to the moon?
Personally I'm working on hacking into the ATO to get a tax return before Xmas 2029.....

To stop it and repair means getting the host to close the site and renew it.
I'm not the nerd in the partnership, so I have to leave it to my partner, the "nerd".
He's currently in Karratha and can't find an internet cafe to plug into. Not even the library at our last contact.
So hang in there folks. We'll be back! Cheers Chris

Hi Granny,
If your site can be managed or potentially managed from a internet cafe, then it should not provide too much of a challenge to a computer savy 12 year old to make an artistic contribution to it.

yes but then that begs the question as to "why", why would a seemingly intelligent "12 year old" want to do something as viscious as that
why isnt he/she out playing footy or cricket like I used to, why not riding the bike down the quarry face like we used to. why not a folded sheet of tin to slide down the quarry face like we used to or swimming in the dam, catching yabbies, chasing frogs, chasing the neighbors dog so we could pour kerro over its backside (okay that wasnt nice but it was FUN) watching him drag his bum up the laneway yelping and carrying on
what is wrong with these kids, they have no life so they go about destroying other peoples property, the world is changing and it is not for the better
