very well done indeed, I am extremely happy you had a safe and relaxing journey, now GET BACK TO WORK we need the money so we can go away
those expenses ties in roughly with what we figure our daily ammounts are, anywhere between $50 and $100 is pretty well on the money
I've been watching your blog, looks like you had a great time

Excellant, and does not seem that you went without anything.
If i am reading the figures correctly, you free camped about 75% 0f the time ? and if you are still on the cigs. the daily average would be about $60.
Hmm. turn 65 next year and the pension pays about $550.
Maybe. Maybe.

We didn't skimp on anything during the trip, did all the tourist attractions we wanted.Didn't eat out all that much but we don't when home neither, drank more than i do at home. Yes, still smoking. You are about right on free camping percentage, our daily average accomodation cost was $5.25, from memory we stayed in CP's 6 times but did use NP's a bit, NP's in Qld were $4.65pppn,NT $3.30 pppn.

What do you mean you're going to START planning the next trip?
I thought you would have done that over a few nights on the last trip.
Tell us you at least talked about it between the dots on the map.
Slow, very slow.
Nice to see you back home. Catch you somewhere in the great outdoors. Cheers Chris

Hi, congrats on such a good summary of expenses; bet you had a beaut time. Can I ask how long you were away? I'm presuming you did the loop of Oz, and not meaning to be nosy, did you have to work along the way for beer and ciggy money or was it completely self funded. We at this stage still have to rely on casual work, but are attempting to aim to do more travelling without the hassle of looking for work to tide us through. As I said dont wont to seem nosy just interested. Cheers, ps guess the home feels huge after being in the van for so long!!

G & K, just out of curiosity, what vehicle were you driving and what were you towing? Your fuel expenses would be the envy of many Grey Nomads. Towing a 23ft van with a 3L Patrol we've been only getting around 5 kms a litre, some GNs we've spoken to with bigger rigs have only been getting 3 kms a litre!
When it comes to expenses I guess there are too many variables to set everyones figures as a guideline, but it's reassuring that your overall expenses are similar to ours in a similar time frame.
Thanks for sharing them with us.

Terracan 2.9L turbo Adria van approx. 2000Kg Towing speed was actually set by RPM (2500) rather than using the speedo, but usually somewhere between the 80-83KPH range.
