Lets assume we do get to Mars what are we going to do with it? I spose the Asians/Indonesians would find it hard to get there by boat, one consolation, but there would be no hanky panky with all that space suit stuff on so I guess watching some super fit trim Yank Astronaught d' Femme swimming in one of the canals in an alfoil bikini would be out of the question.

Jeez Basil, you have such a vivid imagination. If there's a dollar in it the Indo's and Malay's will find a way to get there. Yes the space program requires intellect and self-discipline. Clearly not evident in the gross bashing. Was it pure, unbridled rage on an innocent victim, or was it revenge for something more sinister? Hopefully the law will decide, and then a magistrate or judge will send the perpetraters home to be good boys. The victim's head injuries are permanent. A life sentence for him.

I'm for putting the two together, the animals that belted the young feller, hoons, repeat offenders, boat people, our overflowing prison system lets put them all on the shuttle and send them to mars wait a minute, thats been done before if we send them there and they plant a few shrubs and put in some lawns then in a hundred years time we can go there for a holiday, now theres a drive and a half

Bring back respect - Respect for our fellow man and respect for self. Bring back true accountability - let the punishment fit the crime. Send the boat people home as soon as they land. One airfare is cheaper than keeping them in detention, medically assessing and immunising them, housing them and keeping them on welfare. I'm with you on this one Chris, if they were sent home immediately they landed with no appeals whatsoever, I am sure they would soon stop coming. It also makes a mockery of the people like myself who went through the correct channels, including all the medicals, to get here. well to be honest I think we should once again marry the two problems together, the dropkicks and habitual crims should go straight to military training, under "old school" training, possibly as submariners we could then use the decommisioned subs to "patrol" our western coast with a clear order of "seek and destroy" secretly of course now we cant be held accountable for "piracy" off our coast as happens in a lot of other countries I think one would find that the boats would stop and the crims would think twice before disobeying an order poor old soapbox, chris you are going to have to stop eating those jam sandwiches up here, theres ants everywhere on it!

I still think the Grey Nomad Party has more brains and commonsense in it than all the parliament houses and council chambers in this country. The military service for the young offenders is a brilliant idea. But is there enough money left in the Defence Fund to pay to train them, house and feed them? It seems the Ab Affiars budget gets most of the budgets in this country and everything has to wait in line. While every other department has to aquit their funding to account for how they spend it, the biggest bucket doesn't have to be accounted for. Now that really makes me cranky! Please No, as ex ADF I can say with certainty that the ADF doesn't need or want societies rejects, why should some poor baggy arse trooper who signed up to do his bit be saddled with the systems misfits. On the topic of sending them to Mars that's possibly why Mars is like it is now they have already been there and stuffed it and now are trying it here, they certainly aren't of this universe .

The system is geared to let them go . Take NSW to avoid overtime they grant offenders police bail so they don't have to lock em up because if they lock em up they need a custody officer on duty to monitor the cells. Young offender programs are a total waste of resources as is training police officers to be social welfare workers.. If they give the street coppers much more gear to carry on their belts I feel sure grannies on zimmer frames will out pace them over 500 meters

yep and whats more they are winning, thanks to all the snivvleliberterians I still reckon reinstate old style national service if they are unemployed for more than say 6 months and contributing nothing to society, I have never and will never draw unemployment, the longest I have been out of work was my choice and at my cost, that was six months, send these bludging morons to afghanistan and bring our decent boys home before we lose our cream good boys and girls dying and perfectly healthy d/heads that know how to rort the system roaming our streets, the worlds upside down!!
