Having just set up NextG on the laptop with what appeared to be no problems at all. Used it the first couple of times but did'nt send any mail then. I now find I can't send any mail out. A message tells me the server "Telstra" does not recognise the sender elliemike@iinet.net.au Although I can receive mail !!!
I use iinet for my mail at home and Outlook on both my computers.
Anyone got any ideas before I break camp and head into town and find a computer whiz kid.
Regards
Mike and Ellie

It should work, however make sure that your email address is not underlined and also make sure that you address is in your address book.

Silly as it sounds but have you used exactly the same POP3 configuration. I found that a comma instead of a dot was my problem , which happens when you don't take care with the setup data entry, I could view mail but couldn't send

Still got this problem. No Whizz kids available at present. Think I will have to phone Telstra. Thanks for the help. Raining here in Canarvon Mike and Ellie.

I had a silimlar problem, but only as I changed providers
I retained my email address, with the original provider (for a fee), but using another ISP, meant I had to use their service to send.
Your problem sounds similar, if its the same, just put in the new ISP mailbox settings for send

Thank's for the help I will try the ISP thing a bit later on.
At the moment we have got around it by opening our "iinet mail" in Explorer and it works OK that way.
Been a nice day camped here in Canarvon. The clouds are getting a bit greyer as the evening progresses. Might get a bit more rain yet.

Hi Mike and Ellie
From your email address the problem is as Twobob described. Since you are using iinet for your email then you need to set the same details for your Next G Pop3 account for sending only. Receiving email is not authenticated so it will come through no matter who the provider is that you use. Sending emails however, require authentication to avoid spammers using other ISP's as relays. So open up your outlook and go to configuration for the email accounts and change the sending details. You will need to enter the user name and password that you now use to receive email through iinet.
I had the same problem when I set up my Next G service in the van using the notebook. I always have to remember to change it back when I connect the notebook to the home network and do not use the Next G service.
Hope that helps get it sorted.
Cheers
