Well we are finally back in the world of technology after our computer had a nervous breakdown and had to be hospitalized for a time.
I must say I am very glad to be back and have missed Dave and Basil terribly!! Life is pretty straight & boring without Dave & Basil to lighten it up.
*sits back with a bottle of wine to go over all the threads I have missed out on*
Cheers

Jeez Bas don't apologise, or sell yourself short. We all need the staid and true gurus. We all miss Dave, but it's up to you to hold the fort.
Well Ellen, there's nothing worse than being out of touch for whatever reason. I'm glad you're back among us. Welcome back.
So, fill us all in. Where have you been? What have you done? What have you seen?
Waiting, waiting. Chris

Thanks Greg. I didn't realise anyone took any notice. I love this site, and I love sharing travel stuff and my experiences. I learn heaps more from you fellow nomads.
If someone gets something out of what I share, it's great. That's just the kind of "girl" I am.
While I'm not on the road right now, I've put the "author" brain on the back burner, and put on the "interior decorator" brain on to do some home improvements in the van.
I decided about 18 months ago, to repaint the trim around the cupboard doors and drawers. I've only just got down to it, and I finished the back end of the van (kitchen) today.
Next week it's the front end (bedroom).
I'm going to Brisbane, finally, next Monday to get this medical stuff resolved, so I can hitch up and get back on the road soon.
Bored in retirement? I don't think so. Cheers

Granny the Gnome sees everything - he is a man of international intrigue & purpose. I hope he comes to my mammoth house clearance sale tommorrow, it will be bigger than Ben Hur, months in the making on a budget of $42....

Hey Granny, Basil and all the others submitting posts and participating in this site.
You are ALL doing brilliantly. Dave must be smiling to himself and itching to be back after he recuperates.

Oh Basil, while I am sorry Dave is not around for the moment, I am very grateful you are, and as you have already been told... don't sell yourself short. You are a darling and I love reading your posts.
Granny, nothing exciting unfortunately. Been a little under the weather and also had to take a trip down to Melbourne town to visit with mum who is not doing to good alas. She is getting there though, stubborn old girl she is (hmmm sounds like someone I know.. Mick) Ohh really Michael, and whom might that be? Cheeky devil he is! We are finally starting to make plans for our big adventure and was hoping to commence next year so been getting bits and pieces for the van and figuring out what is needed and what isn't. Picked up a few good ideas last week at the caravan and camping show.
