Upon arrival at an incredibly beautiful park on top of a hill in the central west of Qld I asked with some trepidation (the other park in town looked horrible) if they accepted pets............to which the reply was "Of Course - it's children we try to exclude!!" Nedless to say I've stayed!

Well where is it please? Not much point posting about it if no-one knows where it is.
Cheers,
xina.

Don't really want to know, kids can amuse themselves for a while, dogs will sleep for a while, until nature calls. Ah well, you woudn't leave either behind would you.

It's not the first time I've heard that park owners prefer pets to children, Dogs generally don't commit random acts of vanalism or ride bycycles after dark without lights....

John about to do the same trip for Port Macquarie minus the rain I hope and I have a lab which I will take regardless. Would be interested to get the various locations you stayed with your pet to figure them into my trip planning stage

sorry for the delay in replying, leaving in the morning to house sit a friends horse stud for 10 days at Bathurst, have to remember to pack the lap top. We travelled from North Richmond to coonabarabran/goondiwindi/dalby/roma/rollerston/rubyvale/barcaldine/charleville/cunnamulla/nindigully tenterfield/scone. and did day trips from those sites. Which way will you be heading from Port Macquarie.? we had no problems at all finding pet friendly parks out west, used an old n.r.m.a tourist park guide and a list we found at www.caravanandrv.com.au under pet friendly parks. imagine the coastal parks may not be so friendly to pets. Which of the above towns will you be travelling near,i can be more specific as to which we found to be good or otherwise.
