Anyone travelling in the Bathurst area will find that they can free camp up on Mount Panorama in McPhillamy Park.  Facilities are:

Electric BBQ and Picnic Tables both under cover, but be careful if your parking your rig too close as they have no gutters and the rain will run down the corrugated roof on to your van, I know as I thought I would be smart and go from my van straight under cover to the picnic table but it was like a waterfall when I open my van door. 

Toilets: Brochure said they would be locked at night but I stayed 4 nights and they were left open with good lighting after dark.

Showers:  These were locked, I think they are only opened for special events.

Water taps, plenty of these around.

Children's playground:  Nicely covered and fenced in, if your travelling with kiddies.

Excellent view of Bathurst and surrounding areas, very pretty of a night with all the lights. 

Be warned, it can get very windy up there.
