We are just getting organised to become Grey Nomads. We have sold our house and have no contacts here that we can use as a mail address. One option is to rent a Post Office Box and then get mail sent on from that to whereever we happen to be. Does anyone know of other options ?.

We use a friend, but there are people who do it commercially.

There are plenty of mail forwarding services. Here is a list of them. Go those links and see if any of them grab your attention.
Even though you use a mail forwarding service some of your dealings still need a residential address. This is so they can serve legal notices on you or your agent. You will have to nominate a friend or relative to receive these notices and change your permanent address to their address for things like bank accounts and vehicle registration. I am not sure if any of the mail forwarding services will do this for you.
Edit - another couple:

The above not anygood for most Grey Nomads.... see their rules:
The UltimateOz Mail service is available to backpackers / travellers only, for the purpose of managing personal mail items whilst temporarily in Australia.
This service is for individual use only. (1 account per person only). Mail for other persons (i.e friends / partners / spouses) will be automatically returned to sender
This service cannot be used to receive internationally redirected mail
This service limits forwarding to 5 letters per calendar month
This service is not available to Australian residents
This service cannot be used for business / commercial purposes
UltimateOz reserves the right to open mail that appears to be fraudulent or dangerous.

We have been using Pass the Post and have been happy til now. Recently they took about a 6 week break and by the time we got that mail which was being held at their LPO some of it was too late to attend to and we got stuck with paying late fees, had the power cut off from our house and didn't get some other important letters on time which we're still trying to sort out to avoid paying fines.
So at the moment not impressed.
