"Spectacular" is a good word for that sight, Val. I have seen both at a different time of year, February.
It's a lot different here in the tropics too. Townsville is around 30c most days and high teens nudging 20+c at night. Much better, for me anyway.

Up in Toowoomba it is wet and miserable. I don't begrudge the rain to the farmers and I don't have to work out in it for 2 weeks as it's school holidays. I'm a school crossing supervisor (lolly pop lady) and we stand out there in all sorts of weather. Wasn't much fun the last few days of last week. Was either wet or windy.

And out the front.
I know it doesn't look like much , but it is rather rare for South of the river, Did I mention how cold it is, JEZZZZZ

18 deg. and rain hasn't eased off since yesterday lunch.
cloud still solid. lowered water in 8x4m pool twice, just going out again.
Around 7 inches so far
It's REALLY raining here when you can't see palms in front garden
around 20 ft away from window.
and water flowing down the road up to 6in deep. (seriously,
that's our good rains up here)
nice warm up for the wet. It often makes me lower pool 3 times a day
for up to 4 or 5 days at a time
I really should drill through the concrete and put an overflow valve in there.
Yea. one day.
When it gets warmer. I'll put on a shirt. turn heater off and go outside again.
Hibernation mode. In jocks. socks and heater on 25. 24/7.
I HATE the cold.............

Great day here at Brissy
21 degrees & sun breaking through.
SWMBO has the washing out & a smile on her face.
The solar panels doing their job & generating 1125w & going up.
Getting close to the time where I'll get the van out & head off. If only those Southerners would go home & give me good space in the CPs.

In Cervantes WA, howling gale, was going to leave and travel to Geraldton, will stay another day and hope the wind drops. They also charge $3 to dump blackwater at the council site. The caravan park doesn't have a dump site. The Pinnacles are fantastic to see.

Hmmm.
Just been down to garage (4.40am)
Header tank of Evac Tubes water heating on roof ,
reading 14 deg. ONE FOUR.
Yikes. Coldest we've had in the 16 yrs we been here.
and apart from Atherton Tablelands 12/14 yrs ago.
The coldest ever in 40 odd yrs for me Queensland.
Normally O/Seas or up North this time of yr.
Sun shining but cool, around 17c. We have just gone through one night and one day of cold and raining. Nice to see sun again.
I was about to start building an Arch today, might hold off on 'Dougwe's Arch' for the time being.
