Spot on John. I used to daydream about being her. First came across her Articles in Mens' Magazines I found in a house we were renting from the Cilento's in Caloundra. Loved that place. There were lots of New Guinea Artifacts all through the place. "Pot-luck" if any-one knows it.
Your turn,
Cheers,
Sheba.

I have not heard of her before, but having now seen some of the photos on Google Images, I should have.
I guess I was just a bit too young in the 1950s/60s when she had the most 'exposure'.
Jane Dolinger the brainy and beautiful adventurer, author and pin-up model.
Jane was born in Pennsylvania in 1932. In 1951, after graduating from High School with honors, she moved to Miami to try to find a career that suited her adventurous spirit. For a while, she worked as a secretary at the Miami offices of a Brazilian airline. She also took modeling lessons.
She was one of the most interesting woman associated with mens adventure and bachelor magazines of the 1950s and 1960s.
Shes the only woman who was both a pin-up model and a writer of exotic travel and adventure stories for vintage mens mags.
Her nickname back then was Jungle Jane and she was called the most glamorous travel writer in the world.
In 1955, she published her first book, The Jungle Is a Woman: The Adventures of an American Girl in the Green Hell of the Amazon.
She followed that up with The Head with the Long Yellow Hair, a book about Jivaro headhunters published in 1958. Around that time, Jane began writing exotic travel and adventure stories for mens bachelor and adventure magazines.
Cheers - John

Interestingly, as is so often in our "game" - when the right clue is forthcoming, the penny drops
If I were to tell you the TV show this snap is taken from, you would definitely know her
In fact, it is that TV show that gave her the 'break' into her career.

NAH ... not Freya Stafford either.
This lady's career has spanned 38 years - and she has been on TV almost every one of those years - in a wide variety of shows/mini-series/TV movies.

Not necessarily John. If you're referring to shows like "Home and Away" or "Neighbours" I don't, and never have or will watch them.
If it's "The Sullivans", I still wouldn't remember her name. Only ever watched it occasionally.
Cheers,
Sheba.
