Gday...
Akikusa Shintaro, played by Koichi Ose in the TV show Samurai. His real name was Kazunari Ose. He was born in Yokohama on 27 October 1937.
One of my absolute favourite shows from the 1960s
Cheers - John
Spot on RL, glad to hear I am not the only Samurai tragic.
It is interesting how a photo instantly draws out an old memory
Just like that first chord on a song on the radio - from 50 years ago - and ya instantly not only know it, but can sing all the words. Frightening
Anyhow, who is this bloke ?
Pic. gets too grainy when I try to blow it up to get a decent look John. Larger Pic.would be good.
Cheers,
Sheba.
I am sure you will know this one Sheba
Aussie singer - his family has been in show business for over 100 years.
Can't wait to see who it is.
I have no idea either. Way to hard for this little black duck.
He began singing bush songs in the 1940s but had his biggest hit in 1960.
Can't be Slim Dusty. He wasn't much older than me.
Chees,
Not Slim
This bloke was born in 1927 - began performing at 13.
Tamworth annual country music show began because of him.
Here's a bit more photo -
Tex Morton??
Aussie Paul.
Not Tex Morton. He was a Kiwi. One of the Webb brothers ?
You've been reading my thoughts Paul.
Buddy Williams ?
Not Tex or any of the Webb Brothers or Buddy Williams either - sorry.
He made his first record in 1946 and performed vaudeville during the 1940s.
cheers - John
I'm not old enough John.
His 1960 hit is still part of Aussie folk lore.
Max Ellis??
Smoky Dawson? His 1960 hit was A Pub with no Beer.
That's who I was trying to think of. Couldn't get Tex Morton off my brain.
Think RL must have gone to bed...
Good morning to all.
I guess this one is getting a bit long-winded now.
Here are all the clues I have provided previously. Perhaps seeing them all together will assist.
Now you should be able to get who it is for sure - surely
Johnny Ashcroft !!
I knew that last (Google-able) clue would make the difference
Off ya go BG "thumbsup:
Actually I knew who it was when you posted the photo, but I like to give our newer players a go !!
Try this easy one :
Steven Spielberg and Drew Barrymore on the set of E.T.
Told you it was an easy one !! Off u go RL..
TA BG ... who's this songster ?
I know he's not, but he looks a bit like the guy who plays the young Merlin on TV.
