A few nights ago they were whinging constantly about the balls and it was hooping around and they were getting wickets.
They are certainly a strange mob.
Don't think there is too much I.Q. in the camp. Having the main team goal as "Windy Woofers" as my old man used to call them as the major tactic for the series is a bit weird.
Sometimes one would like to trade in one's English heritage, maybe one can just claim the Scottish side in there only seeing as so many in OZ only like to recognise one heritage line.
Can't see it happening but it would be great to go 3 - 1 and listen to the constant whining again and views re a "moral victory".
Didn't know it was only moral victories that won back the ashes? Must be a new rule.

As I said previously, I have seen this movie before many times and knew the ending.
Spin it, pardon the pun, anyway you like but the Poms were too good. Should have won 3/1 if not 4/1. They can now come home and wallop the Windies and Pakistan and we can all crow about how great they are. As you know, I am no fan of them. Cheats and chokers. They were 0/140 and collapsed under pressure from a group of old men.
I thank them for a really good laugh.

Well, that was a reasonable English tour.
We retained the Ashes again.
We won the World Test Championships for the first time.
And we got under the skins of the English.
All in all, a good outcome.
Incidentally, there is not a side in international cricket that hasnt pushed the rules as far as possible, or tried to change the behaviour or condition of the ball.
Spirit of Cricket just means dont get caught.

The hooping ball made all the difference last night.
Sure, they were too good on the day and both teams were evenly matched.
The only negative I see is that the whole series wasn't played in the spirit of the game.
I think that comes down the the poor sportsmanship and former cheats evident in our side and the arrogance of the Poms.
All in all a entertaining series played out by two sides as bad as each other in teams of behaviour.
Fortunately a few of those elements have now retired and we might see some lesser players take their place but with far better attitudes.

They retained them they did not win them. I agree the cricket was great though. I think the Poms have some good players for the future. Perhaps Murphy may be a good find for us. Most of ours will be gone soon either to the new USA competition or the one the Saudis are creating.
I would like our team to get a good clean out and build a new team around Cummins and Head. I think that will happen when little Davey writes his book.

Good to see the back of the Broady boy, a good bowler but also an egotistic crowd stirrer. Spirit of the game???? Then we had Wood, a very good bowler but also a foul mouth. Spirit of the game?? Bairstow as a keeper? Nuff sed..
Your beautiful boys deserved to win DMaxer, they were better on the day. Looking forward to getting them out here in a couple of years time.

They are not my boys. I just dont like the majority of the Aussie team and how they behave. Just because members of the opposition might do certain things as well, changes nothing.
I agree we can beat some sides out here until a side like the one the Poms sent here in 2012 or the Indians turn up and then it is a different story.

Marnarc. That was hilarious when Stokes stuffed the Smith catch up.
I was praying Smith would go on to make a big hundred and snag a win and really make a big goose out of Stokes.
Alas. Not to be.
Then Stokes went on like an absolute pork chop (term borrowed from Tony Greig) with the umpires.
He is as bad as Warner and a few others and if he is the best the Poms can throw at us as an inspiring leader then we don't have too many worries.
I hope on their return Morris from W.A. is fit and faster so when they tour here we can give them back a bit of their Wood medicine.
Wood just doesn't look like he will last, he appears to be getting his body to do a physical impossibility. Mind you, he was awful swift when fit, which was about 10% of his spells.
Shame it went 2 - 2 and effectively a dead rubber and will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
Nothing to watch now other than the the women's soccer and luckily we get to watch some more OZ soccer with last nights win v Canada.
Sadly a few of the ladies have been watching English soccer too much. A couple go to ground as if they were dying when they was no contact made, just a bit of wind from a near hit.
Oh well, adds to the theatre a bit I suppose after we have now lost the Broad, Stokes "Pork Chop" and Bairstow performances to amuse us

The chokers must be thanking their lucky stars that Joffre Archer missed the series.
He is quicker and a much better bowler than Woods.
I imagine the farewell party for the cheats will be held in a phone box at Heathrow as they add another venue to there long list of cricket fans that cant wait to see the back of them.

The reason these three were banned was not for ball tampering but for bringing the game into disrepute, namely, lying to the umpires, lying to the match referee and then lying to the public. None of the others spoke up, in fact a few engaged lawyers. the team was totally out of control prior to this act. As a result we had not only these three players booted but the coach and a number of officials all found it necessary to depart to "spend more time with their families". I thought it would lead to a change but it soon reverted back to type.
I still enjoy cricket and like to watch good players in action but do not feel any joy when these lot have a win. They were extremely lucky to get away with a drawn series against the Poms. If Bairdstow had held a couple of crucial catches and the declaration had resulted in a wicket or two then the results may well have been a proper towelling for the Aussies.
The Poms won the Third Test, lost two days when they had the Aussies on the ropes in the Fourth Test and towelled them again in the Fifth Test. Our team are crook winners but also poor losers. No team since 1936 has lost a series when two up with three to play. That team were the Poms when they had Bradman and Co on the other side. This lot came from 0/140 to all out for 340, even allowing for almost a whole session lost on the final day when they started at 0/140. They now want to blame the ball. It was a road, they went from 0/140 to 3/240 with that ball. There were no complaints when that was happening. After the inevitable choke which saw a bowling outfit comprising of a bloke aged 41, another part time spinner, a bloke with a crook groin and a fellow having his last test cleaned them up the whinging started. What would have been a real hoot would have been Warner and Smith to lodge an official complaint about the ball.
As to comparing this lot's behaviour to other like minded players, that is no justification. Whatever one does, one can always find someone else who has done the same and use that as an excuse. The Australian team has a proud history. In fact, being captain of this team is almost as important as being PM it has been said. This team does not represent those values and is not liked in Australia let alone the rest of the playing countries.
I have never played in a team or heard of a team at any level that has not had a get together at the end of a match or end of a series. This lot weren't even invited in to say goodbye to Broad, let alone celebrate a great series.
