Re Bradley Wold Braeve Heart.
Have just spoken to lovely lady at the retreat. For those of us who have emailed she has tried to reply but her computer wouldn't send.
Cost: $5.50pppn
Power: No power as such but could probaly run 3 to 4 leads to buildings for those that really need it. Generators allowed.
Showers/Toilets: Composting toilets, hot showers
Pets: Yes usual rules.
Payment: On arrival or departure or bank deposit. In this spirit don't cancel unless really necessary and leave them with sites they could have filled.

Forgot to mention cost of power is $5 per lead per night, bring your own lead.
Booking notice. As soon as practicable, but no urgency. The site is being taken over by the PCYC next year and she believes they will be organising children's camps. Suggested we wouldn't be going in school holidays (whenever they are).

I looked it up on my Camps book. Its not too far north of Bundy for the ones coming up from the south.
Why does it say Has power in the Camps book if it doesn't have powered sites.

There is power HW, see Jack's second post above but it seems it is very limited.

I've stayed here myself several years ago. It's a huge area, some sandy, but when i was there the caravans were up near reception where it was grassy and not boggy at all.

To me the CAW publication is not specific HW, it just indicates that there is power available.
I haven't see anything about specifically powered campsites in CAW anywhere.
Same can be said for water, often it is only from a rain water tank and often the tank is empty as well...hence there is no water.
To me CAW is only a guide.

Hi All,
Just letting everyone know that Beth and I have decided that, next month, we will go and check out some of the places that have been suggested and see whether or not they are suitable.
We will be taking "the list" of what is needed and will try...as far as possible....to meet it.
Meantime, any more suggestions are most welcome.
Cheers.

Hi HW
In my CAW 6 the legend describes powered sites, can't see a description for powered sites.
In the description of the camp it mentions limited power and without being too pedantic I think that's pretty much what I described.
Cheers,
Jack

Sorry for any confusion to anyone. I had checked it out in my Camps 5, it showed a power icon. I checked the front of the book to see what that means. It says the power icon means powered sites.
I don't know any more than that. I was just making that observation.

You ever have one of thos e days when you bump into acquaintances or friends in the strangest places?
I was going up to son's near Ipswich yesterday, and thought I should give Pam a buzz and see if she's free for a cuppa....bit of short notice, no I won't. And who should I bump into at Booval S/C but Pam! It wasn't even in my plan to go there, NEVER go there! Then as we were getting a cuppa to settle down for a good chat, another friend tapped me on the shouler. Haven't seen her for about 4 years! Karma I tell you!
Anyway the upshot of it was that I suggested Pam come with me for a recce! Two heads are better than one!

The strange thing is....
I don't usually go to that shopping centre either, but I had to collect a parcel and pay for it in cash and that was the nearest ATM to where I was going...and along came Beth.... (and also 2 other people who I hadn't seen for ages).
It was meant to be....and hopefully, with our combined brain power (No nasty remarks please!!!) we will manage to find a great spot for the get together.
