Sorry, not Richard Basehart (gee! That is a name from the past, too).
Our bloke here had some cowboy stuff and in later times showed his comic ability while being not wet.

DickO,
yes, it is Lloyd Bridges. You knew a few days ago and gave a clue as well, just holding out for a bit longer.
Someone else for us now?
Lloyd Bridges:
Lloyd Vernet Bridges Jr. (January 15, 1913 March 10, 1998) was an American film, stage and television actor who starred in a number of television series and appeared in more than 150 feature films. He was the father of four children, including the actors Beau Bridges and Jeff Bridges. He started his career as a contract performer for Columbia Pictures, appearing in films such as Sahara (1943), A Walk in the Sun(1945), Little Big Horn (1951) and High Noon (1952). On television, he starred in Sea Hunt 1958 to 1961. By the end of his career, he had re-invented himself and demonstrated a comedic talent in such parody filmsas Airplane! (1980), Hot Shots!(1991), and Jane Austen's Mafia!(1998). Among other honors, Bridges was a two-time Emmy Awardnominee. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on February 1, 1994.
Did he star in a movie that he "narrated" with actor Tim Robbins ?

Good one Stewart! Over to you.
John Joseph Travolta is an American actor. He began acting in television before transitioning into a leading man in films. His accolades include a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award, in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and a BAFTA Award.
Dick0 - it was those big bright eyes, the dancing and interest in aeroplanes that caught my attention. Apparently, John Travolta is the owner of a former QANTAS 707-138 and is donating it to a NSW organisation, if my info is correct.
This will be a tough one. By the looks and attire it has got to be about 200 years ago.
I'll wait for some clues.

Yes, because they were a shorter version of the 707 they called them the hot rod.
John's 707 is going to HARS.

You have got it, Big Gorilla!
Charles Ebden was born in the Cape of Good Hope in 1811 and, after attending school in England, he completed his studies at the University of Karlsruhe in Germany. Pastoralist, businessman and politician. In 1832 after several trips between the Cape and Australia, he settled in Sydney as a merchant. By 1835 had joined the pastoral movement. On 1 June 1837 purchased land in Collins Street, Melbourne and settled there. He was heavily involved in business and government and represented the Port Phillip District in the Legislative Council of New South Wales during the 1840s.Visited England between 1854 and 1856. Was a 'dandy' who delighted in his reputation for oddity and was a political representative of the squatters of his time.
He was a member of the first (pre-Responsible Government) Legislative Council of Victoria from 1851 to October 1852; he was the first Auditor-General of Victoria, appointed on 1 July 1851, the day the Colony of Victoria was proclaimed. Resigned in October 1852. Member of the Legislative Assembly of Victoria for Brighton from March 1857 to 1860. Was Treasurer in the second Haines ministry from April 1857 to March 1858.
Ebden was an active member of the Melbourne Club, serving at various times as Secretary and President, and tragically collapsed and died there in 1867.
He built Black Rock House as a holiday home on the South East side of Port Phillip Bay and it is now a tourist attraction managed by Bayside City Council assisted by the Friends of Black Rock House.
EDIT: No it is not James (?) Stephenson and I apologise for being so tardy getting back to this thread.
