That last pic. could have been taken anywhere in the Northern half of Australia, between Rockhampton, and at least Broome. No help to me, anyway.
Cheers,
Sheba.

Near Normanton somewhere?

No, it's not a croc. And nowhere near Normanton. It's a platypus and definitely in the South-Eastern part of Australia. One more very cryptic hint. I could give you the name of the main street of the nearest town but maybe that would make it too easy. Have a think about that. And another thing, do not expect a reply any time soon because in this part of the world people tend to go to bed around this time. It's past midnight already. See you tomorrow (for me), Monday afternoon for you.

Platypus is still not much of a clue. They are found over a very wide area too. Possibly further North, but at least from Mackay, and south.

Is it at the platypus bush camp at Finch Hatton Gorge

PLease see my previous answer where I say it is definitely in the SOUTH EAST of Oz, more than 2000 K's from Mackay. And it is not near a platypus camp but still a platypus viewing point. And maybe is a cryptic clue too. Dont give up yet!

Yes Sheba, just, Another 40-45 K's and you are in Vic.

Very cryptic clues - bit hard to understand - from what I can see it is some sort of nature reserve or park, 40-45k over the border into NSW from Vic - SE NSW - so maybe in the Snowy mountains?

Let's narrow it a bit more. As I said, 40 k's North of the Victorian Border. Another distance: 65 k's from the coast. Both distances 'as the crow flies'. And it is near a platypus reserve/viewing point. So get your rulers out and start measuring.

In the Nadgee nature reserve - near rangers station?
willem269 said
04:41 PM Aug 16, 2011
Sorry Jules, you can do better than that. Nadgee is not 65 k's off the coast! And it's not even 20 k's north of the Vic border. You're getting closer. You deserve todays perseverance prize. So once again: 65 k's from the coast, 40 North of the border.

Nungatta?

Julie, Julie. Nungatta is just 10 k's north of the border. Go 30 k's further North. You want another try or shall I tell you?

Bombala Area?

Yes, it became too easy. It's off Delegate Road, just West of Bombala, between the Racecourse Reserve and the Platypus Reserve. And do you know the name of the main street of Bombala? It's Maybe Street. very cryptic, I must admit.
And try typing 'platypus reserve NSW' in Google and see what happens.
Sorry Jules, but the runner-up prize is for you.
What's next, Sheba?

Hi Sheba - don't know if the pics have to be our own or not - maybe someone can let us know. In the meantime, I'll see what I can find.

To answer the question, I think the photos have to be our own of places we've been, but may hope to trick others, and then motivate them to visit that place. Oh, welcome "Such Is Life". Nice to see you here. This is the mystery photo section where we are challenged to spot the spot. As for the rock, I wouldn't have a clue.

No guesses on the rock? Pretty sure a lot have. been there - it's very distinctive - and in a very popular place.
Yes, Willem269. Your turn now.
How about a statue for a 'statue'.
Too hard? Need a hint? This is nearby
