Our neighbour got a great video of our flooding creek but I can't post it. Pity. If we get the forecasted rain it will be flooding again.

Well Ruth, here comes the rain (again!) Its been hot and humid, I'm almost pleased its raining, though everything is getting pretty soggy, and we've learnt we need to fix/replace the storm drains around the house. Doesnt seem fair does it, other parts of the country are very dry.

That's because we are such a big country Gerty. Does it seem only a few weeks ago you were having bushfires? At least the rain will help all those trees shoot again - I noticed some have already started.

Three very heavy downpours between 2:30 and 5:00 this afernoon here in Cairns. Very muggy weather. I believe heavy rain is being forecast for the region for the next 3 - 5 days. Just hoping that low travelling northwards just off the coast doesn't intensify into a cyclone.

Hoping that any greynomads in the area affected by Cyclone Rusty have survived unscathed. Been through about 20 cyclones in the past 63 years. Really hope they would all just leave us alone.
We certainly live in a land of contrasts. Bushfire here, floods there, droughts somewhere else and the odd cyclone ((and now tornadoes) just to add a bit of extra spice. Wouldn't live anywhere else though! At least we don't have uprisings and wars here. We just have to put up with Mother Nature!

Same here predicting more rain from tomorrow.... a lot of the roads around here are still closed and a bridge out near Calliope on the Dawson H/ Way will be closed for a few weeks, so if we get more rain i guess it will put repair job on hold.

Currently in Ballarat. 10 deg last night and about 15 deg during the day. Hard to believe its Feb. but still better than 35-45 in Alice Springs. Sooner here than NSW or Qld. Keep postive all those affected by floods.

Would that be on the way from Calliope to the Boynedale Bush Camp. If so there goes our get together in April.
Here's a link to the story Marj. It's the Double Creek Bridge.
