Gerty - no wonder we love the South Coast NSW - in total agreement with you. My hubby grew up on the north coast but prefers the south now. Lovely day here too.

G'day............. Well finally in Tassie we have, having some decent rain, pushing 100mm (1 inch) plus the temp has decreased to below 20 degrees, the rain will be welcome by everybody, not enough to end the long dry spell, lets hope we get some good follow up rains, heading into winter.

One storm has passed by here in Biggenden, the sun tried to break through for half hour, now its grey again. Had a little wind. Now another storm is coming in from Gayndah and Munduberra.

Well, at least you are 'here' this time Marj and not cut off by flood waters trying to get there. Stay safe in all the rain. We were hoping we would get a storm today but nothing so far even though it is humid.

I awoke at 4.30am to a strange sound...RAIN on the roof. Crikey, haven't heard that since December sometime.
By 6am had 6.3mm, wow what a downpour.
Lots of close lightning too.

Since the storm passed here in Biggy, it has got steamingly hot. Only 9am and have the ceiling fan on. Not a cloud in the sky, too hot to do all the chores I had planned.

.. has been a lot of wind and rain over the past week here at Tweed Heads .. forecast is for increased showers in the coming week ..
hope flooding stays to minimum as I plan to head south next week .. this time via the inland route ..

Storms moving south today (Saturday) So far its been patchy heavy rain, and patchy wind gusts, which gives people time to go out between the storms. Ruth maybe the rain was blowing horizontally and missed the rain gauge!

Storm going over here at the moment. Went to Bundy for the day, beautiful weather the whole day till on the way back. It started at Childers. Severe thunder and lightening and heavy rain for the next 20 ks or so. Could hardly see the road. Now it is right over us an hour later. Supposed to get worse tomorrow.

Near Nowra NSW. Severe lightning and thunder overnight with 100mls rain, and a sunny humid day today... but the clouds are building again.
My sympathies and best wishes to the folk from northern NSW who have been flooded yet again.

Pelting down here at the moment, just as bad as yesterdays and one we had in the middle of the night. Supposed to get 3 days of it. Have put towels all along the front of my lounge as water is coming in through the windows and sliding door. Dripping down from the top, which means to me somewhere inside the wall there is a lot of water. Bugger, something else that needs fixing, its never ending.

Gee, fine in Cairns tonight. Had a few showers during the day. Tomorrow is supposed to be a sunny day! What a great day to have to do jury duty!
Our thoughts are with everyone in northern NSW, southern Qld and particularly around Port Hedland, Broome Karratha in WA - that looks like it's going to be a monster!!

Murgon area has been raining all day quite hard only slight drizzle now, been a bit cold, had a look at local bridges if it continues they will go under. When this happens you usually cannot get out to Kingaroy or Nanango, just have to wait it out. Sounds like its still to continue into tomorrow as well. Will let you know if any thing happens tomorrow as well, take care travellers. Charley

Well I asked you folk to send some rain down south - but I didn't mean quite that quickly. Once again we have come home to find there has been a flood in our back yard! Biggest one for a while. And once again, we missed it! We have a small creek half way through our block - usually is dry -unless there is a downpour further up in the hills. Well the down pour happened, and the dog's bridge was washed away while ours didn't and pot plants have disappeared and so has hubby's lawnmower ramp. We're very grateful for the rain - just wish it wouldn't bucket down so quickly. Very grateful that we haven't had the wind damage of further up the coast.

Stanley, Tasmania - started raining middle of the night - hasn't stopped - can hardly see The Nut from the beach where we are parked - supposed to lighten tomorrow, then fine till next Tuesday - hope so!!!!!! It's not heavy - just painful, everything is wet, the motorhome floor is covered in grass from coming in and out - and sounds like generator city out there!!!!

Rained here in Gladstone Qld all night and still showers this morning ,Rain was so heavy on van roof could not sleep.Every one in c/ park was in the same situation.
