Hi all, I am planning to be there too. Not quite sure of the date as my sister may be able to house sit for me. If so, I may be a bit late to fit into her schedule. See you there Doug.
Okay Doug, look forward to meeting you.
Boroma, I would have preferred to stay somewhere with lower cost or even better still, free. But to fit everyone's criteria this was the best we could do.
I plan to head to Inskip Point from there. Only about $5 to camp there.

Well, girls and boys, it looks like this is it! Even though it's months away, I can't see it any benefit in waiting to announce it. It ticks most of the boxes.
I've been to inspect, and found it very nice. The photo's on the site are accurate, except the billabong wasn't so full. But I think it'll be full again after out summer rain.
There's plenty of room, a really good camp kitchen with a free gas BBQ. Sean & Katherine O'Hanlon said they would keep the camp kitchen exclusive for us, if there are enough of us. Toilets, hot showers, dogs allowed.
There is only a couple of power points at the shed near the house. There is oodles of space, flat walking tracks andmay even be some yabbies in the billabong.
$10 per adult unpowered, firewood available at $15 per large load.
Only 1 km of unsealed road. ________________________________________________________

We've been to the Redcliffe Peninsula today.
Lunch at Morgan's Seafood Market at Scarborough, then to the Water Park at Redcliffe, for a walk and a paddle. Great spot for young families.
My friend is and energiser bunny and a shopaholic...and I mean that in the nicest possible way...so yes, I will be busy busy until next week.

I suspect there would have been flooding down at the billabong, but it would drop again. I've been meaning to ring them actually. I'll add to my list of 'stuff to do', which is getting longer by the minute.
Thanks for the reminder Landfall.

They had the 2 weekends of floods, and there's more rain on the way, but by mid May, it should be finished.
I've booked myself in for the week starting the 14th, and asked for a pozzy near the camp kitchen. Anyone going needs to book themselves.
Sean has taken the name Grey Nomads, so when you ring, just tell him you're part of this group.
Just a reminder...it's Cobb & Co Nine Mile Campground, 1484 Noosa Road, Tandur.

Didn't know you had to book. I thought I read earlier the owners said if there is enough of us they would save the camp kitchen for our use. Nothing about booking. I better get on to it. Do you have to pay a deposit upon booking. I have no idea just now how long I can stay, so not sure how to go about it. Maybe book for a week and see what happens.

We didn't need to book that early Marj, but probably just as well to book. Sean did say to me in January that he'd keep the camp kitchen for our exclusive use, if there were enough of us. I told him today that I'd be there on the 14th, didn't say how long I was staying. He didn't say anything to me about paying.
Mention Grey Nomads so we can be nearer each other. I asked for a spot near the camp kitchen.
If anyone requires power, the only power points are at the shed near the house.

I'm posting this for the information of anyone who is thinking of going to the Gympie meet up.
Earlier today when I made my booking, I spoke to Katherine and she told me that they have a couple of groups booked in around that time....that is why they need an idea of numbers.
They are very happy to take our bookings...without deposit...and we can pay when we arrive. Be sure to mention GN's so that we will be situated together as a group.
The above info refers to unpowered sites.
Hope this helps.
Cheers. Pam.

Johnathon, they don't require a deposit, as don't have Eftpos. Said was too far out for people to know definite plans and was not fazed about people canceling later on, so would suggest you put a booking in, so we are all in one group, unless you Snore, which is a totally different matter lol.

Whats your talent fellow nomads?
Sing, dance, play an instrument, tell bush poetry, funny skits?... hopefully if Jonathan makes it, we'll have karaoke.
Any volunteers?
