Qld's turn for high temps. Meant to be over 40 today and for a week or so. Weatherzone says it's 28 at the moment in Logan, with 55% humidity and winds are NW.
My little granny flat is coolish as it's built into the side of a hill, under the main house. And there's apool outside my door, so I'll be spending quite a bit of time in there.
No fires nearby thank goodness.

Isn't that amazing? The cool change took 4 hours to go 100kms. The westerly winds must have been trying to push it backwards! Glad it has given some relief to the coast further north. Hope it's not too awful Beth. Today it is a lovely 'cool' 24.5C. Sun shining, breeze blowing. All that heat is soon forgotten. Hope it doesn't stir up more fires though.

Only went to 31C here (South Coast NSW) today but felt hotter because we didn't close every thing up. Yes, Charleville has been 46 - 47C too. Supposed to be hot again tomorrow but my weather page doesn't say that for here.

Yep, another cousin in Charleville who was suffering too. I couldn't live in a place like that. I spent 18 months in a small mining town out of Tennant Creek. That was enough for me!

Friends who live in Charleville take their kids to the pool early in the morning, then they have to play indoors in the air con all day until it is cool enough to take them outside again for another dip in the pool. But they love living there. He works with the RFDS. On the NSW south coast it has been lovley cool day with some drizzle. Good weather for fighting bush fires. No lightning strikes so far. Actually, just looked and it is only 20C at the moment - husband has put a flannel shirt on! Crazy!!!!

I said I wasn't having trouble -and now after using advanced editor button I have - my post didn't happen.
Friends who live in Charleville - and love it - take their kids to the pool early in the morning, then they play indoors all day under the air con before going for another dip when it is cooler in the evening.
Temp here on South coast of NSW is only 20C - have also had some showers. So hpe this weather is helping the firies fight the fires further up. So far no lightning just nice calm drizzle.

I don't blame you Milo. In the NT they call it the silly season..when it gets so hot..makes people go a bit crazy. Try to stay cool...go down to the ocean.

After a 41 degree day here at Greens Lake yesterday we now have winds, blowing a gale. I just hope no fires start up in the region. Wouldn't take them long to move any distance in the wind. I think it was about 36 today.

Gerty we were on the road in that horrible heat last Friday and the car thermometer said 54C as we drove through Sydney. Each time we stopped to have a bite to eat the car and us just heated up and we had to cool it down again. We arrived in Nowra when it was 45C and within 30 mins the southerly blew in at 50kph bringing not only coolness but dust and smoke and leaves etc - but oh it was soooo much better than the heat. Today it is a lovely 26C at home on the South Coast NSW.
