Looks a lot like stromatolites at low tide at Hamelin Pool near Monkey Mia. We were there about 2 months ago in the middle of a plague of locusts.
Cheers

There's a reason for that - it's exactly what they are. Supposedly the most ancient life form still living on earth. They don't do much, just sit there quietly waiting to have their photograph taken.

Not sure what they are called, but are they the haystack rocks on the west coast of Eyre Peninsula SA?

Not Murphy's Haystacks near Streaky Bay. There are also stromatolites near Port Lincoln. Apart from those snippets of info I have no idea where the rock is. Guessin' - somewhere near Esperance.

Could it be near Hyden where Dog Rock is? Other than that I really don't know exactly where this granite beauty is.

Never heard of Dog Rock in Hyden but this one is on the coast.
This giant Rock & its mates nearby(some partially submerged in the shallow waters of the beach) plus the nearby cove are also named after an animal.

If I remember rightly Chris, that's London Court.

Nope, sorry Granny and Sheba - neither on those places - wrong side of the country.

I'm staying with my earlier guess of the Stock Exchange, Charters Towers. Several years since I was there so my memory may be not very reliable.

Sorry - Jimricho - didn't see your post and you are right of course - interesting place, did you see the "calling of the card"? Beautiful building - anyway your turn now.

Thanks Jules, wasn't sure. No, didn't see the calling of the card. My last visit to C.T. was in 2004, they may have been doing it then, don't know. My earlier visit was in the early 1970s, The Stock Exchange hadn't been restored then and was in a sad state, falling into ruins. Drove from Emerald up the Gregory Development Road towing a van in with a Falcon station wagon. The road was corrugated gravel from Clermont to Cape River then single lane bitumen to C.T.
May go through that way again next month or early July when I head to FNQ to get out of the cold. Charters Towers is very historic and well worth visiting for anyone who hasn't been there.

Okay, have a go at this..
Pick this place....
Yes Jules it is in the Grampians, Do you know the name of the place?
Beechworth - cancel that - we must have been answering at the same time

Better give a hint, it's a short walk from Halls Gap.
It is either Venus Baths I reckon - my sons favourite spot in the Grampians.
