I drive through that way all the time, Castlemaine, Bendigo, Ballarat, Daylesford etc. Never seen or heard of it.
Hi HW, the next time you pass through Castlemaine, take the road to Chewton and then look for turn off to Vaughen (springs), Fryerstown and Irishtown, its a very old gold mining area, hence the Duke of Cornwall mine.
Safe travels,
cheers

Good one Gubby! We camped there in the rain for 3 days waiting to see the falls, it cleared for half an hour, and this is the best photo we could get. Would have been amazing to see it thundering after cyclone Yasi!
Your go!

Yes it can be a pain when you go somewhere with great expectations and the weather has other ideas. we've just came back from the Grampians and 75% of the roads and tracks are closed due to the floods in January.
Our photo of that falls was taken in 2007 and had so much more water in it, I didnt recognise your first photo. It was the extra pics that gave it away.
Hi Gerty.............getting very very warm
cheers

Thanks Ozi2, you made me work for that one, and no, Fryerstown isnt marked in my atlas.
Try this one, a lot further North.

But back to the subject:
Where is this place??

Qld, within a 200km radius of Cairns.....
Okay it's gone a bit quiet so a few more clues, in the following pics I have taken most of the name off the signs. The rapids are above the falls.
Is it Mungallie falls on the Atherton tableland?

You've got it Gerty,
We went there in December 2009 with a car club, it's very pretty and has great walks.
Over to you....
Our photo of that falls was taken in 2007 and had so much more water in it, I didnt recognise your first photo. It was the extra pics that gave it away.
Ok, try this.
Many of you have been here, this town has been mentioned in the forum many times.
Further West, Chi Chi.
Wouldn't really have a clue. The only artesian bore I can think of is Burren Junction, which I don't think it is.
Hi Gerty........Birdsville?
cheers
