Kalbar SE Qld, in the beautiful Scenic Rim - blue sky, half moon is out up there, no wind - quiet after spending three weeks on a busy suburban street in Brisbane!!!
I hope you are all okay camping out there Jules. I saw on the radar that the Scenic Rim was in the 'firing line'.
Thanks for that Beth - we were actually out at Darlington Park with daughter and three of her boys - ranger told us the storm was coming, so put the smallest of the tents under the awning - decided to cook some snags on the bbq - late lunch - Billeeeeeee and I were going back into the starship to get plates etc, when this wind just spiralled through the camp - we were hanging on to the awning ropes, thought we were going to be blows away - it tipped a big yellow skip bin over onto its side - tents blown down, one with a small child inside (was ok) - gazebo tents demolished, branches down, one of our mats ended up 500m away!! quite an exciting 4 - 5 minutes!!! Won't be forgotten in a hurry!

Hooly dooly! I was in a similar situation at Wooyung several years ago. I was sharing a poptop camper with sis & bil. Blew in, sent everyone running and blew out again, all quick as a flash. No damage, except our dinner was delayed when the cook had to take cover real quick!

Goodness me Beth, late dinner, those weather gods have a lot to answer for.
Speaking of weather gods, they were good to us again yesterday the THE best day for many moons and it looks like we are going to get much the same today although the forecast god reckons a change on the way, all here in down town Wonthaggi Sth West Gippsland, Vic.
As they say in the classics......"Come on down".

Here in Wonthaggi, Vic. The weather gods have given us a very black sky with rain starting as I write this, strong cold winds around the corner. Looks like Melbourne are in for similar and the Swans will be swimming around the G tomorrow while the Hawks will get their wings so wet the will have to stay at ground level.

Millmerran - at the showgrounds prior to the camp oven cook out festival next weekend - overcast all the way from Boonah, and the rain started just as we started setting up - bit cool - hopefully all gone by tomorrow - can't wait for the festival.

Our first night of home ownership on the South Coast was interesting. With our furniture still in Canberra, we slept in the caravan through a dreadful storm with strong winds and hail. We were safe and warm in the caravan with the pop-top down but when we went to look at the house it didnt fare as well... shade-sail torn, a little water inside due to hail filling the gutters.. nothing too terrible thankfully. Now the fine weather has returned, and a lovely sunset tonight predicts a fine day tomorrow.
