Nearly all COVID-19 deaths in the US now are in people who weren't vaccinated, according to analysis by the Associated Press.
It is a demonstration of how effective the shots have been and an indication that deaths per day now down to less than 300 could be practically zero if everyone eligible got the vaccine.
The analysis of available government data from May shows that "breakthrough" infections in fully vaccinated people accounted for fewer than 1,200 of more than 853,000 COVID-19 hospitalisations. That's about 0.1 per cent.
And only about 150 of the more than 18,000 COVID-19 deaths in May were in fully vaccinated people. That translates to about 0.8 per cent, or five deaths per day on average.

My better half had her first AZ shot about a month ago, she suffered no side affects.
I had my first shot yesterday, so far so good.
Will keep you posted.

I've had both my shots a.z.
Pfizer has some heart risks with the second jab too
All jabs have risks so does going for a drive in your car,
Everything has a risk, talk to your Dr,
just get a jab before we all go mad, before Covid babies grow up thinking mum and dad are the only grown ups with mouths, before the old people I deliver meals on wheels to die of old age before they can see their families, or get to socialise again. Before the social isolation and bankruptcy become responsible for a huge rise in the suicide rate. Please,

I just got my booster. My first two shots were AZ, my booster was Pfizer. I didn't have to ask for it -- that was what was offered. I've see some official sounding reports that a combination of vaccines provides the best protection.

Exactly the same as Dorian, two AZs followed by a Pfizer booster eight days past which was 5.5 months after my second AZ shot. No side effects whatsoever to the booster.

I've had 2 A.Z. and now I've just had a Pfizer booster and all my joints ache since the pfizer (hopefully it will go away) I do believe that we needed inoculations to try and get ahead of this virus. And both types of inoculations have a small risk if serious side effects. But so does catching Covid. However, now I'm covered by both types of inoculations, I do not intend to have anymore boosters in the near future, I'm done with being a pin cushoin for now. It's unrealistic with the highly infectious omocron variant to think I won't get Covid so I'll be careful with hand washing ext, but I'm going interstate to visit my grandchildren and if I get Covid I'll look at it as another way of building amunity against Covid. And if I'm unlucky enough to die then at least I saw my grandchildren, I could just as easily get it in my state without even seeing the kids
Gone of topic a bit I know
Spot on
AstraZeneca use to be phased out by October

Now Pfizser and Moderna are having issues with Myocarditis, something that I have to be alert for.

I now read that the AZ vaccine, (which we had), is to be put on the backburner from about October
This does not worry me, as I believe the health officials, who say that I now have some protection, against Covid-19
I will assume that in the future, we may all need a different vaccine, as the Covid-19 virus mutates into Covid-???
