Hi Sue
Maybe a mini working bee will be in order somewhere in Sept 22 - 26 to help catch up on what has been delayed seeing Phil has not been able to do much.

Awesome news Colleen. Come up for a trial run anytime.
The GT has started!! (who wears a watch and knows what the date is?) currently have 6 vans here with at least another one due shortly. Some will stay put and others will meander on their trips. One lot of our visitors are from a SA forum ( the rest are GNs) and it is scarey how well they have fitted in with this lot!!. We even had a visit from the guru Vic today. Unforetuneately for Vic (or was that fortuneate?) he arrived just as most of us were heading out the gate to go op shopping.. sorry Vic but Guru or not, somethings just take precendence!!. We left him in the capable hands of Len and Billy while we were gone so not even sure if he got offered a cuppa and a bikky!! Had some QLDers call in for a quick visit this arvo,, they have been staying locally housesitting and will be back for the real GT in Sept.
So any one out there on the road and are passing please feel free to call in and join us even if it is only for a cuppa.

Colleen came up for a visit on Saturday, stayed the night - had to go for a family commitment, else she would have stayed. Lovely lady for those who don't know her, looking forward to seeing her at the meet up - think we are expecting some people in the next couple of days - old friends, Ron and Jenny (Wombat), and Glassies and her husband - looking forward to that.
Having a great time here, as usual, good company and lots of laughs over coffee, cake, nibbles and beer - the more the merrier.

Same here Sue, pity Phil was away getting fitted for a monkey suit but will catch up next time.
And yes, Len and Billeeee did look after me while you girls were out frolicking, lol.
Hopefully back in September, and thanks for your hospitality.
PS: I hope Wombat didn't dig too many holes around the place...

Not sure what I am doing yet but the timing could be perfect for my first proper run in my new truck. I need to get some mechanics seen to but nothing major. The big job will be the fit out but for the moment I am happily "indoor camping". Will keep you all posted and thankyou for your kindness in the invite.

Vic, Wombie didn't leave any holes,if he did they are well disguised!!
James and Len fired up the ride on yesterday and mowed everywhere. The dandelions did their usual off pulling in their heads as the mower passed then popped back up as it went. so still lots of happy little yellow faces out in the paddock but we WILL get em before the GT!!
James will be pleased when the GT is over and he gets back on the road for a rest!! Will start the bug spraying in the next couple of days and that will be an ongoing programme for the next few months now that spring is here so it will be safe for Carol to come up. Your spot is almost ready for your vans.
The new kitchen and undercover area aren't going to happen now (Phil has had another set back and is on the don't do anything list for another month). So the marquee will go back up and we will use that and the shed.
Mark looking forward to seeing your truck. I am sure you will get lots of hints and tips from the crowd here.
Not long to go now. Looking forward to meeting up with new and old friends.
So many "hang fires" trying to get myself into a place where I can; do what I want and have all the tools to, make it work for the present, and learn how to make it even better.
I have been careful not to not to give way to frustration, but rather to do what I could with the resources I had available without squandering them. I havent been out proper bush since I gave up on Geophysics in disgust and determied If I am to go to those places I must do so on my terms and be prepared to pay for my own fuel.

This truck (touch wood) is the goods.
The Spring has sprung, the sap has Riz , I wonder where the Birdies is ?

Well you have to watch Wombat, he's a sneaky one with the camera, if you see something that looks like a gian mozzie you will know he's at it again, just don't leave your doors open and keep a club handy
Sorry to hear about Phil's setback, hope he's on the mend.
Mark's truck sounds interesting, I was looking at those Coles home delivery trucks the other day thinking they could make a good camper. A bit more room in Mark's though by the looks of the photo.
Look forward to catching up with you all if things permit.
Take care and and catch up soon I hope.

Getting closer now. Have 5 already here and set up. The campfire has been lit a few times;happy hours are happening;maintainence of vans and vehicles has started; lots of coffee and cake being consumed etc so dont be shy, please call in someone will put the kettle on (someone is always looking for an excuse to have a cuppa!!,). Dont feel you HAVE to stay camped elsewhere as it is too early to come here just come along and set yourself up. Dont feel like socialising that is ok. .Want to go off and play tourist that is ok. Do your own thing or join in with what ever the others are doing. .The wildflowers are out , the weather isnt too bad and improving. With Phils health not the best at present we seem to be more out than in( he really likes his midnight rides in the disco bus!!) but there is always someone around .
See you all real soon.
