How come the most southern of the mainland is so hot.
Maitland is not on the coast but there is a loverly swimming pool here
It's just about my size ,
My mouth is so dry because of no beer for the last 4 weeks
Yeo John told me to eat healthy it's not easy (John)

Don't know where you are with relation to the Fires Paul, but keep your eyes and ears open. The ABC usually has pretty good updates on the radio, and you'll be able to see the smoke for miles.
Stay safe,
Cheers,
Sheba.

Thanks you Sheba
Your concerns have been but in stone
Too hot to have a camp fire
I was given a lend of a portable cooler to place in the van
All I need now is ice water , the refrigerator is doing it job
now to produce me heaps of clod water , so all is sorted.
Maitland is a ok town , I have not been everywhere yet ,
I am back on the scooter and not doing so well with the walking ,
it will come good again .
I do hope you are behaving BUT making the most of life.
Cheers from Paul. In SA

Total Fire bans in both Vic. and SA Paul. Not too cool up here either at the moment, but not as bad as down South.
Pete and Sue and Joe are getting settled. I've only heard Sacha bark once since they've been here.
Good morning Paul - stay cool, don't try and do too much - this heat in the south is very taxing - happy new year - and probably see you at Wuruma!!!

Hanging on to the hair on my head

Well it's not so bad
Not so bad camping at Maitland , yep been doing the see everything .
Driving all day , my eyes are like crab eyes from looking about .
Headed south ,got to the land end then headed back .
I saw grain growing , I now know what grain in the field looks like
,rewards are 2 - 3 tone per acre harvested ,
it takes 8 months from sowing to harvest
I did spot a couple of nice beaches also some very nice stone buildings .
These pic make see SA so special

Good to see that you are enjoying your travels in SA, great pics.
I must admit that you would have felt a kinship with the lady whose garden you photographed
Hope to catch up again if you return to Greens before the end of January.
Cheers, John

Thank you Yeo John
You are quite right there is some nice womanhood out and about,
Nice gardens also
Got troubles here today . My battery charger is making a very unholy noise , yep sounds like it might be seeking retirement from the workforce .
Maybe you could fix it. You seem to fix many things ,
I have to depend upon the solar to recharge the batteries .
It is comforting to have a 240 v to 12 v charger just incase the sun fails or breaks down,
When it comes to returning to Greens . I just might make it back there to Greens ,
just to check you out as regards to your diet ,
SA is a great place but I would not care to live here for too long ,
the topic of conversation here in SA would certainly mostly be how many bags per acre are the fields producing or some similar topic of conversation,
Well to John and all other keen campers ,,,,,,,
Cheers from Paul

Wow.....! I meet a woman who showed me her garden - front, back and both sides of the house,
Very unusually untidy .
This garden had so much original concept and thinking
It was so very interesting , i will keep her ideas in my mind to take home to my garden.
SA is so interesting.
I just had to post this pic of the salt areas that are frequently found in The Yorke
A small amount of the salt is harvested .
This pic of the huge fields of grain , wheat or barley
Great Pics. Paul.
Cheers,
Sheba.

My van tucked away in a barn to dodge the severe storm
Pic of a enjoyable sunset after the storm
I seem to have a little trouble here ,
One pic too many that I cant seem to remove . But......it is a nice pic anyway
I will be back into Victoria within a few days
Cheers from Paul
Looking at the forecast pic , it's time to trade the camping gear in for something that has a chance to float .
Dam rain has to spoil a travelling trip . Bugger
Why do we have to have all this rain ?
Well .... I suppose something is needed to wash the **** off everything.
Where to from here ?
Cheers from unhappy camper
