Now get out your maps boys and girls. I'm going to tell you a story.
I like to avoid the 2 lane bit of the highway, heading north towards Gympie, because it's a high accident area and not many drivers stick to the speed limit. So I turn off at Pomona and come through the back roads to TCB. But today, I also wanted to check the Gympie end of Noosa Road to see if it was caravan friendly. So after Pomona, I went through Cooran and Traviston, then turned onto Traveston/Tandur Road. Reaching the T junction, I turned right to go to Noosa Road. So I was that close to popping in, but I thought no, I'd better keep going.
Anyway, the northern end of Noosa Road into Gympie is mostly bitumen, just of couple of kms of acceptable gravel the same as Cobb & Co end. I like all the back roads, as long as their mostly bitumen. It's a much more scenic route.
So folks, that's the way I'll be coming from TCB. Avoiding the highway.
And thanks for the Mothers Day wishes Jon.

I'm packed and ready to go, just have to put fridge food and toiletries in the van tomorrow and I can get going. Could have gone today but need some stuff at Gympie which is not open on Sundays. Son warned me today to be careful on the backroad I am taking from Biggenden to Gympie as it goes through a farming area with no fences and cattle roam the road. Goodie I said, will have my camera ready. See you all some time tomorrow. I know its only 100 ks but I do have to stop in Gympie remember and there is a shopping centre there, haven't been in one in over 2 months.

Finally got here today. What a mob there is! Lovely meeting so many new faces.
Our rigs and tugs are spread out all over the place, plenty of room.
Very cold, 12 degrees right now, and heading for 9 overnight. Jon said it was 3 this morning so I think 9 is a bit optimistic by the weather man.
Thank goodness I now have a caravan instead of the little camper trailer.
See you tomorrow kiwi-as.

Fantastic meeting everyone, what a great place. Even kangaroos sitting in the shade of trees just over a bit from us. Just hope it doesn't get too cold, even the roaring fire couldn't keep me warm out there. The days are just beautiful, looking forward to a long walk tomorrow after the sun has warmed the place back up.

.. It does look like another beautiful day after another chilly night ..
While a few more will hopefully arrive today, a few others may be leaving .. Many new faces have now been associated with their GN ID's .. and the presence of friends & rellies has only enhanced this happy group and will be remembered as friends after they depart from here ..
A big "Thank-you" to all who have attended .. and our thoughts are with our friends who were not able to be here, but I'm sure there will be other such occasions ..
Also .. thanks must go to Beth for her constant efforts to see this through to a most successfull gathering .. and also to those members that put in their own time helping to select an appropriate location.
This is a truly great venue .. the hosts are second to none .. and we've been blessed with the best weather available (and we hope it continues) ..
.. life is good !

Great photos thank you for sharing. Jonathan and Michael you look like you are really pushing yourselves there, don't overdo it. There are a few faces I recognize in the group and that beautiful photo of Shady is just beautiful. Give the baby a big hug from me. My kids are still trying to give me a dog. I keep telling them I would never be lucky enough to get one like Shady so the answer is no. Keep enjoying people. Cheers Tess
