As there are more caravan clubs than motorhomes club, how come it is the CMCA that seems to be doing all the work? How about a caravan club sponsoring a dump point? Never seen one yet, but certainly see a lot of caravan owners hogging the CMCA/KEA sponsored dump points.

CMCA/KEA don't own the dump points James. They sponsor them.
They are put on council land to be used by the general public.

If you re-read what I wrote I didn't mention "owning" - but I did say "sponsored". I still ask the question...where are any caravan club sponsored dump points?

I'm a member of the CMCA and I own a Kea MH.
Your right they don't own the dump points, however they do sponsor/contribute to the cost of installation and in many cases initiate installation, yes, they are for use by the general public.
So, instead of making a mountain out of a mole hill, why not simply say thanks CMCA/Kea, use the facility and get on with life.

I agree - just be grateful to have them, and move on! There is no rivalry between caravans and motorhomes - but comments like yours try to stir the pot!
Here at Greens Lake we have six motorhomes, five caravans and a fifth wheeler in our group - all are equal!

I decided not to read this thread right through as many comments are inane IMHO.
About 6 years ago I was on another popular forum and there was an attempt (not initiated by me) to "FORM A CARAVAN GROUP", similar to CMCA so that we could mutually support each other across the spectrum of issues.
It was a dismal failure as the "caravan group" were so fragmented and bitched about everything that didn't suit their own personal wants or opinions that the whole thread caved in on our heads.
Just my thoughts.

I have not had any experiences where I have experienced snobbery, we own a jayco so nothing to crow about but it meets our needs, I am happy to have a chat to anybody and with a positive friendly attitude I guess I have been lucky.
I have also found that a bit of fun with those hired wizbangs on the highways and byways is where safe arm out the window and a big wave usually attracts a positive response.
