Foster Brooks
Actor
Foster Brooks was an American actor and comedian most famous for his portrayal of a lovable drunken man in nightclub performances and television programs.
This is a very funny man. Take a look at this video clip of him appearing on the Dean Martin Show in the early 1970s. Dean obviously thought he was a riot, he couldn't control his laughter and had to wipe tears from his eyes.
Looks like he goes back to the 1800s... Could he be French ?

Gustave Eiffel
Civil engineer
Alexandre Gustave Eiffel was a French civil engineer and architect. A graduate of the École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures, he made his name with various bridges for the French railway network, most famously the Garabit viaduct.
Gustave Eiffel began to specialize in constructing with metal after college, and his early work focused chiefly on bridges. In 1879, the chief engineer on the Statue of Liberty died, and Eiffel was hired to replace him, going on to design the metallic skeleton of the structure. In 1882, Eiffel began work on the Garabit viaduct, which was at the time the highest bridge in the world. He soon began work on what would become known as the Eiffel Tower, the structure that would cement his name in history.

I've been thinking about that. I have posted an advert. type posting in "Pick this Place" with the approval of Hylda & Jon. We got a few starters but they don't last long. I see a lot of new members but they don't seem to be too interested in participating !!
I look at when you first started this and there was plenty of people interested. I wonder whether or not they have the time available on their computers or not .
I am at home and have unlimited download and usage and I must say that when we were in Tassie just recently that we were restricted as to the time we had on our laptop.
Maybe the folks on the forum are limited to their allocated time. That I can understand. Unfortunately we all don't have time available on our computers.
Just a thought Ken .One can only hope that we might get some more participents. Fingers crossed.Anyway,we enjoy the thread and will continue to be involved.
To those that participate thankyou very much. For us not travellers it is just another way to get involved in the forum.
Thankyou all.

You may be right Alan, but if you look at PICK THIS PLACE, they seem to have a few players. Maybe members are more interested in trying to identify photos of where other Forum members have been. Some of the photos of people here are hard to pick, and maybe this is a deterrent. Thank you for your support Alan and a big thank you to all others who join us for a bit of fun. If anyone has a suggestion as to how we can improve this site and make it easier and/or more interesting, don't hesitate to post.

Sir Edmund Barton, our first Prime Minister.
Cheers,
Sheba.
over to you
Nice to see some Australian content Glenelg. Here's another one. One of my favourites.
Don't let the name that comes up when you run your curser over the Pic. influence you. It has nothing to do with his real name.
Cheers,
Sheba.

I think so.
Cheers,

If you know, you should go for it Dave. I'm surprised it's lasted this long really.
