Is this a place that would have been dry 4 or 5 years ago?

I'm guessing it's out the Simpson Desert Way. The colours are just magic wherever it is.

Hi Cruising Granny, you're guessing right. The flood water images were taken looking towards Big Red first or last of the dunes depending on your direction of travel.
The intensity of colours in the outback are simply amazing, combining with the floodwater and the incredible diversity of birds that abounded we felt very privileged to have had the experience.
Geez, CG, is it something we said? It looks like someone giving us the....
Ok, ancient layers of sediment............South Australia? ( for starters)
cheers,

Nuh! Not giving you the "bird" either. It really is an interesting geographical feature somewhere in the NT.
Now it's up to you to guess where in the NT.

Hi CG, ok, its not "the bird"and my only visit to the NT was Darwin, so might have to pass and leave it to the GN's that may know of the feature.
Cheers,
Ozi2

Gee, I had complaints when no-one guessed one of mine within 24 hours. Not that I'll know where it is, but how about some more clues CG ?

Ma has it! The prize goes to Ma. If you've been there you'll know how beautiful this place is, and if you're on your way, you have to go there. The McDonnell Ranges east and west of Alice Springs are a geographical must. Not just the beauty, but the serenity. I just stood a turned slow circles wondering at the formations surrounding me. I met a nice bloke in there who also appreciated this amazing place for what it is. OK Ma, your turn.

This one is probably a bit hard so I'll tell you straight off it's in NSW.

I'm sure this one is Fitzroy Falls near Kangaroo valley. I used to go there with my mates on the Easter weekends in my late teens & Hylda & I enjoyed Camping at the Bendeela Camp Ground at Kangaroo Valley when we were heading South a year ago, I would highly recommend the place for anyone heading that way & a day trip from Kangaroo Falley to Fitzroy Falls is a must.
Cheers

Here's me thinking it would be hard but I must admit that if you have ever been there it is unlikely that you would forget it. The views down through the valley are great and when the falls are in full mode it is spectacular. Well done H & J.
